Line Stretch - FS
Last Saturday on the water, the Pulse kept on stalling and would not reach zenith. I took some measurements of the lines today:
Front lines 5cm longer than back lines
+In the bridle the A-line 3cm longer than the Z-line
+The depower line was 3cm longer than the recommended 40cm length
=Total 11cm difference front to back.
Go figure why every time I would pull on the bar I would backstall the kite. It was like constantly having brakes on.
So according to the manual, in additon to correcting the depower line to 40cm, I am going to shorten the leader line that is above the trimmer
(depower) strap to make up for the difference, 8cm.........Correct?
In other words, in the manual it shows that the factory setting of the bar should have all three leader lines the same distance from the bar when the
trimmer strap is completely open. So I am going to change that by adjusting the center leader in by shortening the bowline knot at the top of the
trimmer.

have you tried to stretch out B and C ... you can do this by just tugging the lines a few times with a rod on either side.

B and C are inline with A after a mixer adjustment.

the Bmain and Cmain do not need stretching.... they are an adjustable segment via the mixerballs..... re-stretching lines only applies to fixed length
segments like Zmain.
the Zmain (in the mixer) does not get as loaded during flight , so after time it will shrink a bit. afew centimeters doesn't really matter but if you
want it to be equal with Amain then you can stretch Zmain. probably with 75lbs load will re-stretch it back .
then after the mixertest (which you have already done) you can adjust the length difference between the flying lines and steering lines by hauling in
the bowline knot above the trimmer so when you measure the total length of the lineset plus the leaders and depowerline, the ELC will all be equal in
a sheeted in condition. this is only true for the pulse1 barsetup, other barsetups have a differential between main and steering leaders.
you are on the right track Adrian.

Thank you John.
What is the differential between the main and steering for the Speed2? Is it published?

directly from the speed2 manual:
Attaching the flying-lines:
The kites are delivered with a fully
assembled bar. But in case you ever
have to remove the bar, please observe
the correct reassembly.
All three leader lines have the same
length, if the trimmer is open and the
bar is fully powered up. Thus the trim
on the bar can be easily controlled.
