Which kites to keep, that is the question ?

Hello Everyone,
I would like some opinnions / comments by intermediate and advanced riders.
I am a 200lbs beginner snowkiter / landboarder, ~40h on snow and maybe 30h on grass, water maybe 5h.

I ended up with 9 kites, which I would like to reduce to 2, 3 maybe 4. All have bars and lines.

2007 PL Scorpion 16m
2005 Flexifoil Blade III 8.5m
2007 Monkeykites Griffin 18m
2005 FS Extacy 13m
2007 Slignshot Ranger 12m
NPW5 300 6.9m
NPW5 250 4.8m
2007 OR Rise 16m
2007 Peter Lynn Twister 7.7 (I couldn't help it for €150 BN)

Which to keep and which to let go, any ideas ?

Rides: Mongoose G.Slalom 152, Dynastar Concept XDLR 160, Outback X RollerBlades and LF Proof 151.

I would keep the Scorpian.
Your Griffin and Rise may overlap? Not familiar with the Griffin .

I I could have only 3 of your kites it would be the Scorpian, Rise and Blade.

No matter what you keep you are a bit short on super high wind kites. Your 16m Scorpian will take you well into the 20's but after that even your 4.8 NPW is a bit big? You need a 5 - 7m Foil / SLE or 10m arc.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

Hey

I agree with Bladerunner for the most part. I've never flown PL 's so I can't comment on it but your inflatables overlap quite a bit. Keep the better of the two as they have almost the same wind range.
I disagree with the Blade, it flies in about the same wind range as your inflatables or less. If your going to be on grass lots keep it, but if your going to be in water or snow sell it.
I had a 6.6 Blade and could use it on snow in about 15 km/h, but because the winter winds in Ontario are very gusty it got challenging and was slowing my progression down.
I found it easier and less tiring with a depower for gusty wind.
I think if your going to do a lot of snowkiting keep the Ranger.
So my thought is keep all the 07s and look for something smaller like Bladerunner said, you will use it eventually.
Just my opinion

YES. My leaning to the Blade is just my choice because I like my 9m so much. The ranger will take you a lot farther but is a complete overlap with the Scorpian.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

Personally I would vote to keep the Blade:smilegrin:. You can landboard with it down to 5mph (3mph in a buggy) few other kites will keep you going on light wind days. In addition, lighter wind days, when I'd take out the 8.5, generally aren't gusty so flying FB shouldn't be a big deal. Just my 2c though.

the wind-range on the FS extacy 13 and the Slingshot ranger 12 are quite close, but both of them are also covered by the scorpion 16...

I would keep the scorp16, the blade3 8.5, the NPW's, and look to getting a 4m access or the like for a high-winds kite.

I don't have experience with the Extacy my 05 Flysurfer was the Psycho II.

In 05 Flysurfer was just getting it together. Well made but technical. They hit the mark in 06 with the Pulse, Psycho III and Speed kites. Much improved depower + stabilaty. The Exctacy should be in the sell pile for sure. Your Scorpian will serve better in the same winds. The Ranger was a good kite. Of the 2, I would keep it but the Scorp would see all the wind!

You now have 3 kites competing for low wind and non of the 3 - Griffen, Rise and Twister will do it until you get to about 5mph. Of those 3, I expect your Rise will give the widest wind range. I would give up all 3 if I could keep the Blade. IT is your 1st kite that will power up on a super low wind day! As soon as it is too much your Scorp should take you well into the 20's . It is after that you have a problem !

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.

Thank you everyone for comments and suggestions.
I've made the decision.
Scorp, Blade and Rise stays, rest for sale now.
