Just an idea 'cause I'm excruciatingly lazy, and I just made it to Full Power Slacker in the Easy Chair Olympics:

Anyone ever put together a comprehensive list of places to ride for travellers? Sort of the AAA or KOA map? It would be great to have all of the spots in a listing with GPS address, rules, tips, what to ride (water, land, etc), local contacts for private areas? During my travels, I wonder about some locations near where I'm staying but a list would be really helpfull. Anyone want that with more ambition than me?

Isn't there a way to tag locations on Google Earth? And then maybe we can do a search for a common tag like "Kiting Location" or something we all decide on? Someone smarter than me should look into this maybe?

OR maybe we could start a running list here on PKF that we all add to including coordinates, address, etc with notes and have it broken down into regions.

I really like the site because you can see at a glance how the wind looks around you and you can set up your own spots. The 7 day forcast is helpfull too.

YUP! thats the ticket all right. I Didn't know this existed. I hope everyone checks this out and adds their spot to keep it growing. I know there must be a beach or 2 in NC that should be listed in the map for Surf and Turf.

I've added some on there that aren't there anymore. Well, you can still kite there, but they aren't on the map any longer.

Thanks BB! That gives me ammo for when we plan annual family meet ups. Now I can say stuff like" I hear the beach there is wonderfull this time of year". And hopefully everyone will ignore the buggy on the back of the truck...

To help your cause, there are rental houses just to the north of where I parked my car. Not sure of restrictions but many months its allowed to drive your car on the beach. I parked a hundred feet from the surf and just took the stuff out of the car and set up. Very nice.
