WANTED: 5 - 8m Kite

Ive been kiting for a while now and I always have friends that I have to teach because "Flying kites is gay". (They always change their minds after that first gust of wind drags them 75ft across the field)

They all want to buy one and I told them that I could check and see prices for different sizes and stuff because i dont know much about it.

Im just looking for a land kite anywhere from 5m to 8m.
If nothing else I just need a price range so I can give them an idea of costs.
New or Used.

No, economic recovery begins with my own personal bailout....

....AKA my own TARP on strings

and it's that first kite that sinks the hook!

...in other words, bail me out and then I'll channel my inner kami like there's no tomorrow.... ....so many kites to buy, so little cash....

On the news tonight, person who had been bribing local government officials agrees to help authorities by participating in a sting and testifying. His renumeration for his efforts... wait for it...

$30K (I assume immunity from prosecution was also part of the deal).

I am in the wrong line of work.

beginner kites - $50 to $100 per sq meter

advanced kites - $100 to $175 per sq meter

race kites - $200 to $270 per sq meter

depending the brand the resell value on used varies, also other factors too ie. condition, repair, model year, etc etc.

You DO realize that 5m is WAY too big a kite to learn on and that a 5m and 8m kite are for 2 very different wind speeds!

If you are looking to get friends in to kiting and want them to stay friends you should be suggesting they look at 2.5 to 3.5 meter kites !!!!!!!

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

Haha yes I know that its pretty big but i started them on my little symphony and then put them on the 5m in low winds when i KNEW that there was no chance of them getting off the ground and they have been getting the hang of it.

Now that I think of it, asking for an 8 is probably a little too much. My 6m is perfect for what we have around here cause the wind is almost never very good.

Ha Ha !

I was pretty sure you were bringing them in to it on your trainer !

It was the 5 - 8 thing that seemed odd. 5m being an average wind kite and 8m a small low wind kite.

I find 5m is a very good size. Covers the widest range in one FB . Add short and long lines and you can get a LOT out of a good 5m.
