You can add long siderails and the wide axle for not alot of cash and it'll have the same feel but be much more stable and save the elbows. I scrape mine on barrows on our comp XR, but I'm 6'4". The wheels look serious nice.

I don't think I will leave these wheels on there. I was just playing with my toys. I picked up this buggy for the compact/portable aspect. But I thought it would look cool. Too bad I can't make rear fenders, that would help things...

the PL Side Rails will only extend 15cm more and the PL Rear Axle is 120cm however you can get a custom 140cm Reinforced as well.

I think the turning weight of the tires and rims alone might bend the frame... but on a serious note, I'd top it off with a aluminum spoiler

these alu rimm's look great, but the excessive weight is something i don't want a high speeds.

Just remember Cheesy. The heavier the buggy the harder it hits you when you flip!!:wee:

Those aluminum wheels are lighter than plastic wheels the same size, truer and stronger for sure.

are you sure they feel heavier, i used them on Day 1 at Brouwersdam. than i switched them out on Day 2 for the Cadkat at Ouddorp.

also note that if you wanna race, these are not legal by FISLY rules. you would need to place a rim cover over it.

Yes if you race in Europe using their rules any spoked rims must have a cover. The covers are easy to make. In the states we omitted that rule. They do look a lot better than the plastic ones and in the heat of the dessert they will not let the tire blow off the rim as has been the case in the past. Maybe plastic rims will help racers get a better score if they are that much lighter but I doubt it.

I don't think the distinction has to do with the actual construction of the wheel. I think it has to do more with the chances of something getting hooked up in the wheels. I think the term "spoke(s)" was more a linguistic expedience more than anything else.

The Peter Lynn plastic tires have indents, but the chances of something getting trapped in them or similarly constructed wheels aren't that high.

For the aluminum wheels with cut-outs that go all the way through, body parts would be a write-off and non-biological parts would become impromptu emergency brakes.

From that perspective, it makes sense.... at least to my slightly tilted perspective.
