I didn't get it off e bay. from an individual on craigslist. It's already in my garage. I don't know for sure if its the real thing or not??? I haven't been into buggies very long. Figured what the heck. I'm sure it is stainless steel thou.(I was once a welder) Even if it is a piece of crap its ok. Just for the boys. I was able to buy the last used LIBRE VMAX buggy which blows it away. No fun going out and doing this by yourself. So are there no older peter lynn buggies with straps. Looks like that small 200 dollar flexi someone was selling last month , but the straps for the seat say peter lynn on them?????? DIDN'T FIGURE I COULD GO TO WRONG. Oh yeah if it is a peter lynn can you upgrade it with a nicer seat and rail pads???

There was a PL buggy that had straps for a seat. I don't know which one it was though.

Post a pic or 2, someone might recognise it. I got an older PL Comp Std Buggy on this forum for 250.00 and that was from someone who had kited some time ago, but not for years, so he knew what it was worth. Even a Rockville (perish the thought) is worth 100.00 IMHO. cheezycheese just sold a set of wheels/bearings(new) for 85.00, so you def got your money's worth! Wheels spin? Steering work? Give it a ride. I love my std, it's small, I won't be setting any speed records with it, but its nimble and lots of fun! You can use pool noodles for side rail padding, if good at sewing, you can make covers, I used bright green ductape.

I'm not that computor smart? And for that matter don't care to learn how to upload photo's , takes up too much brain space have to think about KITE'S AND BUGGIES. It does work, one set of bearings are noisey, but sure they will clean out. My two kids have been racing then down the slight hill outside my home. Wheels look simular to the libre buggy but bearing and wheel stud are smaller. Went out to the garage and looked at it again the seat straps are black and hot pink where it says peter lynn. don't think its jonesband cause i found it in the garage sale section deep down a list of junk(I mean treasures)he was selling. thanks again

If the axle bolts are all the same size (front and rear) then it is probably one of the older Peter Lynn Standard buggies. Those had 12mm bolts all the way around and came with a webbing style seat. This buggy could be anything from pre '90 to '99.

In 2000, PL produced the "Comp 2000" buggy which was basically the same buggy as the original but used a thicker walled tubing throughout, slightly re-designed down tube and front fork and used 15mm rear axle bolts. Front axle bolts were still 12mm. The seat on the 2000 changed from the previous webbing design into a solid black canvas type material that had an actual seat section that you sat down into rather than rode on top of like the webbing seats.

In 2002, the Comp 2000 was changed once again to what is now the Comp XR+ buggy. Again using thicker wall tubing throughout the buggy and changing to 20mm rear axle bolts. The XR+ also came packaged with frame rail pads and blue rail coverings. The seat was the same as the Comp 2000 buggy but the rear axle attachment straps were changed from quick-clips to a strap that had to be threaded through and secured.

Other buggies that were available in that time were the Big Foot which had a very large front fork and the obvious Big balloon tires (21" tall) instead of the normal "barrow" tires (16" tall). The Bigfoot also had slightly longer frame rails and a longer rear axle. Rear axle bolts were the same as the normal buggies. 12mm were the earlier ones, 15mm came in 2K and the BF XR+ has 20mm. The Big foots still use 12mm front axle bolts on all models.

The Folding buggy was the other release, this buggy is quite easy to identify as it can be folded up. It has a two piece rear axle and some funky A-frame type design for the frame rails / rear axle. The Folding Buggy seat started out as a webbing seat just like the original Standard buggies but had a different rear strap setup that allowed you to take it apart so the buggy could be folded up. The newer folding buggies used a solid canvas seat with a padded rear section that was usually yellow or gray. The seat was deeper than the webbing seat but not as deep as the 2k or the XR+ buggies.

There are a couple other models such as the Monster buggy that has full suspension and the NABX buggy which also had suspension. There were also quite a few optional parts that could be ordered such as extended rails and extended rear axles. Each could have been fitted onto the buggies to alter them somewhat.

It sounds like you got a real deal and not something from Jonesband1998 which is good. Congrats on the find! If you do get a picture we'd all love to see it. If you need help posting the picture up, just let us know and myself or someone on here can do it for you.

THANKS! Kent, It's going to be the older standard buggy. It has 12 mm bolts all the way around. It has very little use, I'm stoked!!!! I'm going to talk with my neighbor and I'll get some pics posted very soon. Not for sale, but whats it worth . Just need to get another kite to power the second buggy, will keep you in mind.
Happy winds also to you!

It might be worth a look to see if you can put a new xr+ seat on your buggy. It will be a much more comfortable ride. Ad72 on the forum has an older buggy and I think he was able to fit a new seat on it. I will give him a call and ask.

That does sound like an ST buggy. Mine came with the black seat with the red pad and I upgraded with the seat from Dakitez. Does it have a Peter Lynn name plate riveted on the front headset tube? I have seen some with webbing. I even saw a bigfoot on ebay once with webbing seat.

If it doesn't have the nameplate it could also be my old Flexifoil-Peter Lynn designed buggy ? Does it have straight or bent up ( like normal ) side rails ? How about the back axle? Is it a straight tube or welded + canted back wheels?

If it is the old Flexi , mine is tough as nuts ! Been driven over by a 4x4 and still bumping along ! Super light and fits in the back seat of the car with only 1 bolt removal!

Sorry but my neighbor went camping for the weekend, get pics up early next week!
Bladerunner, don't think it your old buggy, way too new looking. Tires barely have any wear, frame doesn't even really have scratchs, the down tube has a little scuff, think just was not tightened enough.
let me see if i can answer all the questions. down tube is straight, no name plate , straight axle. normal side rails. webbing is the best way to describe the seat. The seat has the only markings , the web is black w/3 hot pink straps that say peter lynn.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR THE HELP!!!

Go to an outlet store or look on sales racks and pick up one of the soft stadium seats. and put that in the seat of the buggy. The Kidd and I use them in our buggies for better back support.

How are you making the leap from jonesband on ebay selling flexifoil and rockville knockoffs to an individual seller on craigslist selling an old PL? I'm not sure I see how we know this is the same person.

Congrats on finding a great deal on a buggy with some history to it, or at least some long legs!
