Show your buggy site

Here is our current primary site. We have yet to find another site. This one measures(using Google Earth measurement tool) about 400' long and 300' wide. Not so big, but it's flat, mowed grass, and at a lake so the wind is good.

Nice spot! Is that a yacht club? More wind addicts! I buggy on the shore of Lake Ontario in upstate NY. This should link you to it.

Nice club, are you a member? Lots of races going on there. The sailors I meet on the shore of L. Ontario while I'm buggying think it is so cool. Do you get a positive reaction while buggying there?

Here is Jekyll Island, GA....

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en-GB&ie=UTF8&q=jekyl...

The the beaches of the lower 5+ miles of this 7.5 mil long island can be ridden at lower tides. It is all public beach (state park) and we have kite-friendly local government.

[plug] This will be the site of the Jekyll Island Buggy Expo (JIBE), May 18-21, 2011. [/plug]

Most of the beach is wider than a football field at lower tides. Georgia State Patrol, Fire/ Rescue and maintenance crews are all trained not to run over kite lines. This is the only place I know where you can buzz the state police vehicle and out-run them without being arrested. (they kind of get a kick out of it)

The southern-most couple of miles are largely empty of people even at peak season on weekends and the entire 5+ miles to the shipwreck are navigable off season, esp. weekdays.

Some good spots there - can't seem to get Jekyl island up though - all I get is a map of north America. Where everybody drives on the wrong side of the road!

Here's a link to Sandy Point - it's a 4 hour drive from here, (on the right side of the road  hmmm....or should that be left...) but if the winds are onshore for a couple of days then it's worth the drive cos it's just stunning. There's a pic of .Joel on a 4.4m reactor II out towards the spit. (my current screen saver) Sandy Point

Great spot for a west wind, which we tend to get a lot of, unfortunately it's also a soccer field, and we all know how that goes.
