Famous last words of a redneck: "hey everybody, watch this!!"

Actually that is brilliant and hilarious at the same time. Would make a good Boy Scout merit badge.

that's how jellis set the bead on my current fb tires. used started fluid as a lubricant to get the tire on then to pop it. But the air starts to cool pretty quickly after it ignites so filler up quick :) I also purged the tire a few times to get rid of the flamable smell :)

I saw a documentary several years ago where some guys in a pair of Toyota landcruisers were making their way across antarctica. They had huge 40 or 42 inch tires and ran very low psi in them. With such low pressure they would frequently roll a bead off a rim and would reseat it this way. I thought it was pretty slick.

Yeah I thought the fuse thing was pretty cool also... A lot "safer" than throwing a match in the tire...

Man we did that with 22inch truck tires for years at the shop. Then we got a tyre-inflate can it shoots 150lbs of air into the tire in about 1/4 of a second. Loud and hurts when your thumb is in the way (kicks like a mule). But a whole lot safer!!
