Bring back the Synergy?
With all the demand for used Synergies going on right now, one must wonder why PL products doesn't kick in production again on such a popular kite.
Granted, some of the demand is because some sizes of the Chargers are on backorder right now, but there seems to be constant chatter on here about
someone looking for this size or that in a Synergy.
The Charger meets the needs of lots of riders, but its higher performance isn't necessarily appreciated by everyone. Since it would be playing second
fiddle to the Charger, it could be made available in only one color per size to minimize inventory requirements. When you hear of dealers losing
sales on new kites to the used market, it seems that offering the Synergy and Charger at the same time wouldn't cannibalize Charger sales, but would
be icing on the cake. Its bad when I consider buying one in need of repairs when I already have the same size in like new condition.
Any chance of being able to order new ones next year? I'll take a 19m and an 8m.

I hope I am not saying too much here. This is second hand info and you should consider that.
Rip' and I were talking about this last weekend. From what I understood He has approached PL with the concept of doing a limited run of the Synergy.
It would seem that is just us wimpy North Americans who want to buy more ? The folks overseas are not complaining like we are. Unfortunately all of
North America equals about 1 small Europian Country as far as arc sales go ?
From what I took away from the conversation , if you want a Synergy you better shop the used market.
If you find a 10m I WANT IT !

Not trying to hijack this thread but I love the old phantom graphics and the venom2 graphics. It would be cool to find a batch of kite of your
favorite model in color ways of your specific choosing. Unfortunatly I never had a chance to try a synergy, just went from scorpions to chargers. I
would love to have a full quiver of chargers and a garage full of every PL model that's been released. I feel like I'm dreaming now. Wait a minute,
I'm thinking of kamikuza's garage lol. I can't wait to meet that dude

We could probably do custom collude on your TR CH.
There is a bit more to it than just NA the only country wanting the SyN. I can't go into details but if youre losing sales over a SYN vs CH it sounds
more like a price issue. If the SyN was on the market and priced the same which would you buy?

I'd buy an 8m synergy AND a 12 or 15 charger, if I had the choice. Need a high-wind engine that is stable for ATB and snowkite, but love the speed of
the charger and would want that for the lower days.
Now, I'm just guessing, but I think that'd be real close to a two-kite quiver, at least for my needs.
(Related: In watching snowkite movies, there always seems to be ONE PL kite in them. usually a v2!)
Tide? What's a tide? Man, it's 1000 miles to any ocean.

I'm actually considering a 19m Charger because its turning speed would be faster than the syn and that would be welcome at a 19s wind range. 6-12m I
think I'd rather have the predictability and dependable autozenith of the Synergy.

I know I am a bit unique but I would buy the Syn at the same cost. I would expect it to be. They certianly are different enough to have different
buyers?
Synergy or not. I think there are at least 2 kinds of riders. Aggresive riders and non aggresive ones. Other than Pansh, PL is the only brand I know
that offers only one choice of depower kite.
I know that in the past they have sold tons of one model and few of another , think Vortex. At least those few of us that were looking for something
a bit more tame felt we had an option.
I am concerned that the Phanny II will continue in the Chargers direction. Losing more of the friendly nature while getting more and more like a C
kite and less and less like the original arcs ?
For me and ONLY me I found my older arcs were to slow, my Chargers too fast and the Syn was just right ! Maybe this is just another example of getting old and not wanting change? :puzzled:

Bladerunner, I know what you mean about the difference between agressive direction of newer models and I can agree with you. I love the poppy lift of
the charger and I love to send the around (even though I've only had a chance to test one). I ride in the most inland gusty wind that is possible.
Were talking like 8 mph gusting to 33 mph! I'm in Missouri, very very inland. Using chargers in high winds can be scary since they can be whippy in
high winds if you aren't careful. I usually use a 16ish meter kite so it's not a huge matter but when winds are above 30 sometimes I want a little bit
slower more predictable kite. I understand your want for a more stable machine. When I get my new chargers, I still don't think I'll ever get rid of
my 13m v2! Some of the older arcs inspire confidence and learning new tricks.
I want change and new potential in newer arcs and I know you do to a point to. I think since PL is such a niche market, I think they'll offer another
mid aspect "tame" arc. I guess I'm not a kite maker so I can't say for sure but it seems like they'll do something.
I cannot wait for my chargers!
Dang, it took me forever to type this on my phone lol.

I started on s-arc and have flown evey model of arc since, except for the f-arc. I have only flown the charger in the buggy and static. I personally
think its too fast and not as predictable as my phantoms, venoms or even the synergy! I don't like having to check on the kite to make sure its acting
right! I need to keep my eyes on the water seeing what is coming at me next! When I wipe out and get tossed thru the spin cycle, it nice to know that
the kite is sitting at 12 and waiting for my urget input to get up and moving before the next wave comes and gives me another wirly! Lets remember
who their lead test rider was "Gunner". He is a very talented but a very aggressive type rider! I remember seeing a triple kiteloop vid of him and
thought that would scare the PooPoo out of me! Lets face it that only a few people desire to kiteloop and handlepass! Most of us just want to cruise,
ride the waves, jump high and land then ride away, staying upwind! So what they have created is a niche kite thats already in a niche market. You see
very little marketing from PL, so its even a smaller market!:dunno: Lets hope that phanny will have some of its previous roots! Arcs are a rare
thing in OBX and I see alot of kites! Hitting the waves in the am with my trusty 12 synergy!:D..........aj

There will be more marketing in 2011. There is lots of ads and reviews in euro mags already. Yes the twinskins are a niche market however to keep
everyone happy there is the CH and soon to be LEI.
The P II is still in R&D mode so don't hold your breath. I think that fits in nicely with the current along side the CH.
I'm curious to know but the auto zenith. I had BR CH 10 in like 40 knots and the only issue was it swings one way before it finds zenith. If any thing
I believe it has to more with the bridle than design. Let me ask Pepjin.

SOON TO BE LEI :wow:
I would pay as much and more for a Syn ! I'm an archaholic and have quit going to meetings :singing:
But I may have a rabbit in my hat?
AJ,
I am very pleased to hear you say you feel you have to " stay on top of " your Chargers as well. I have found exactly what you are saying with my 10m
about prefering to concentrate on where you are going and just feel the kite but on snow. I feel like I have to constantly go back to hearing my
instructor yell KITE 1st ! at me. I can much better fly by feel my Syn and Pulse. I will be bringing my Farc to NABX please feel free to hit me up for
a fly.

I find that the thought of this has been a real "downer" for me the last few days. I kind of thought we in North America were part of a wave of
growth of Peter Lynn products. I didn't realize we were seen as the "red headed step children" compared to Europe.
BR, I'm with you on price. They could set the Syn and Charger at the same price and it wouldn't sway my decision one bit. I'd buy the kite that met
my needs.
Other than a 19m Charger that I'd like to try, I will continue to seek out an 8 or even a 6m Synergy and won't give up anything 10m or below until I
can verify that we will actually see a Phanny II and its what we all hope it is. An LEI on the way does nothing for me at all. There are a half
dozen different LEIs on the market that I know would be great for me if that's the route I wanted to take.
