flash is outta commission. :(
yep, that's right. Went in today and had the doc check it out and now it is official, probably prognosis is a tear in the right
bicep/tendon/attachment point thingy and a micro tear in my rotator cuff.... WTH universe what did I do to deserve this? I am going to be doing so
much PT and pain killers in the hopes that I am ready to go come the first of the year.
Love you guys

And that makes all the difference in the world... Did you get some pictures of your session? Did you actually have an accident that caused the
problem, or was it an over-use injury? Just curious.

Honestly I am not sure if it was either the little wreck I had or an overuse... I kinda went overboard with fresh backcountry powder turns, 12 mile
snowshoe treks, cross country skiing, mogul bashing, and kiting with a pretty standard no tweaky crash. (all of this in the span of like 4 days)
Sadly I was doing most of this on my own, so photos from the snowkite session are non-existent. I tried snapping two photos while riding not
realizing there was snow on the lens... quite comical.
I still am to poor to afford a Go-Pro or Drift camera that I can strap to my head.
I will keep you guys updated... and hopefully I will have photos of me flying again really soon!
Thanks for the well wishes

Hope you feel better soon. I suffered an intrasubstantive rupture of my pectoral major muscle accompanied with a partial tear to the tricep longhead
at the point of insertion in 2003. That was a brutal injury which took a long time to recover from but I've been happily kiting for years now and you
will be too, soon enough. Do whatever they tell you and don't rush the recovery. Do you need surgery? Did you get a second opinion? If you tore
the tendon off, it will not heal properly on its own. If you suffered a partial tear that could be OK depending upon how far it tore and where.

lol.. yes I will gladly swap my pain meds for a go-pro... oops... should I say that, am I now going to get arrested? ah hell with it.
Seanny - yes... give me a holler... just cause i f'ed my arm doesn't mean I can't get some turns in! Hell... i have to get more then 50 days on the
mountain this year or I lose another growler of beer!!!
I only get the one opinion... cause the VA only covers one.. unless it comes to
surgery, then I can seek another opinion. That usually turns out to be exactly the same. The one thing they do have down is joint and head injuries
I am not to worried tho, I have been down this road before for other surgeries,
so oddly this is familiar territory.
Right now the assessment is that it isn't a full tear, only 'tearing'. I waited a week after the injury for the appointment, to reduce the swelling
etc... and with my mobility test and pain levels, they said chances are it is not full tears. So there is at least some bueno news! I have to wait
for my turn for the MRI to find out exactly how much damage.
and as far as tv... that will just piss me off more. :singing: It just so happens that I don't have my tv hooked up to anything other than my dvd
player, and I lent out my dvd's to my buddy...all of them except my Snowkite, kiting, skiing, cirque movies....(oh, and maybe a Die Hard movie) Talk
about freaking coincidence!
Sigh... I love you guys! Between you and my local buddy here I feel less desperate after the prognosis. I was really feeling down and kept screaming
obscenities in my head. :bouncy:

Hope it isn't too serious, once they see the MRI. I slipped and fell on some ice in the road while walking my dogs 4 yrs ago. Landed on my elbow, but
the force pushed the humerus upward enough to tear the rotator cuff. Dr. recommended surgery, I opted for physical therapy. I still have pain on
occaision, and some reaching positions give a twinge, or lose strength, but I really feel that flying fixed bridles unhooked has increased my strength
and range of motion overall. Good luck on your recovery, and we could always use more judges/helpers at the Tug Hill festival, if you are not 100% by
then.

I'd tear my own ACL if it meant I'd get to stay home and watch Spongebob for hours daily! :D
Well not really, but I do like Spongebob.
Being hurt sucks. I've had many breaks, and a compound fracture. I have much empathy for you. You're still young, you should heal up fast and make a
full recovery. As everyone has said, listen to your doctors and take care of yourself. %$#@ happens, make sure everything in the healing process goes
right the first time so you won't be back like this anytime soon.
Best of luck!
