weren't the F-Arcs supposed to be given away for free to anyone wanting to contribute to the single line bridling experimentation that was discussed a year or so ago? What ever happened with that?

sorry not intending to hi-jack, just curious.

From Peter's Dec. 2008 newsletter:
"If enough kite fliers are interested in participating, these few hundred kites could be distributed now. Shipping costs would have to be charged, and there'd probably best be a token price on each kite to discourage looters and tire kickers (NZ$10 and NZ$50 depending on size and age?), but they're mainly perfect new unused kites with fabric value alone in the hundreds of dollars.

This project is actually up and running already in a minor way but with just four participants so far,- so everywhere above where I've said "I" it should have been "we": Andreas Fischbacher(Germany), Orlando Ongkingco (Phillipines) and Johan Hallin (Sweden)- and there are others who have expressed interest."

Interesting read on the whole article : http://www.peterlynnkites.com/news/0812news.htm

So it was a while back, end of 2008 and I think there were a couple of guys that got kites but I know in the Toronto Kite club there were people waiting and figured it just never happened.

I'm curious whether anyone did anyone did anything interesting out of the whole project and what ideas for bridling etc came out of it. It was bringing the kite almost into a circle, drawing in the wingtips, and flown as a single line kite.

Anyway - good scrounge on the kites!! I might be interested in one or two for some lifting experimentation as a pilot kite for some line laundry projects etc that I'm working on, I'll shoot you an email, thanks for the heads up on them

oddly, i know when USA Paydays differ from Canada Paydays. its all strategic in my books. if kites were cheaper I'd be selling on the Welfare day, like the liquor stores do.

if it makes you feel better its still going to take me two weeks to arrive in Canada or USA, with the Xmas Delivery times.

Wow, that's a shload of F Arcs. I know the program what Markite is refering to, my F Arcs are from that deal. I don't know where it stands at the moment but Rudeboy and I were testing a V2 16m as a SLarc. My 1200 is ready for the bridal to be installed but I have to assemble the bridal still. Good project for this afternoon!

Rip do you have these kites in hand or are they shipped from another location when you sell them?

Dibs on a Phat Phanny for me.

I've flown Angus's 18 a couple times now (including right after he took it out of the factory plastic) and you can fling it around just like a smaller arc. In lower winds it can still make some power. Should be a speedy torque monster on the water too. I don't really NEED one of these either but can't miss the chance again.

I knew response would be big ... so i need to lay down some ground rules as I woke to have 20 new u2u

I will response FIRST COME FIRST SERVICE.

1. u2u what you want (list FULL Details to reduce time - Items, NAME, MAILING ADDRESS)
2. wait for my reply
3. make payment (paypal or credit card)
4. wait for Santa Peter Lynn

at this time they are currently located at PL - NZ, and is being shipped to me in one HUGE lot, im hoping the earliest is 2 weeks. These are truly the last *new* phanny left (unless you have one hiding in your closet), from previous discoveries at PL - NL. Once on arrival they will be dispatched from us here in Canada to you.

for the bags, ill still checking the model / qty. Scropion / SYN / CH bags are not available as these were designed by PL NL.

I will get pictures for the F-Arc and Arc as soon as possible.

Their was some misunderstanding when I said complete

KITES ARE ALL KITE ONLY * DOES NOT INCLUDE BAR NOR LINES
* WHEN I STATED COMPLETE : it mean there is all parts for the kite.

*F-ARC are just the kite, you will have to get your own bag or request one of the other bags that we can stuff it into.
secondly you'll need to get your own spars too.

The 18m Phanny's low end is about 5-7 mph, maybe 4 if you work too hard, and the upper end varies to the square of the size of you balls. For land riding I'd be looking to downsize about 10-12 but on water on snow would be higher depending on weight and riding style.

Why am I all excited about getting an 18m Phanny when it was never even on my radar that I wanted one ?

I went to work this morning feeling selfish. I'm sure my 1st true motive was to call Dibs simply to beat the feeding frenzy I KNEW would follow.

I decided it just may have a spot if it TRULY will fly in 4mph winds. THIS SEEMS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE ??? :puzzled:

So, I am picking up a kite that will get me out in 3m wind this weekend. Already have a trusty Rusty Blade that gets me going in 4 already, TWO 15m arcs that will take off at 8mph.

I will win the low wind war YET !
