Sylvan Lake Meet up - December 22

Woop Woop! Christmas is coming and we got a TON of snow to play with here! Sa-weet.

I guess we should pick a time to meet. Wind's not looking super BUT I've met up with RevPaul and have his graciously "donated to the cause" SA17 & SA19. I'll bring everything in my closet and perhaps we'll be able to get the big Phantom off the ground?

Or we'll eat, drink and be merry ; )

I know we said 22/23 depending on the wind too so let's decide if this is the case or if we mark the 22nd down in pen. I'm game either way.

I am in Calgary now.

I will try and get out tomorrow to Chestemere of Ghost. Final shopping etc. today.

I am not one for rushing in the morning. I am good with either 10 or 11 ?

I pretty much have every day until Friday available. I would drive to Sylvan a second day if others want to?

For now lets stick with the 22nd !

P.S. If anybody has a blower for arcs can they please bring it ? It looks like my sister has a big gass one but not sure it's ideal?

You might have to adjust your user preferences (Control Panel) to show more posts on a single page. I've got mine set to 100 I think.

I'll go pick up your Wonder Pole tomorrow.

BR (and everyone else) 10:30/11:00 is a good meet up timeframe for me. Had I been thinking we coulda planned ahead and met at the Cooking Lake Sail club, stoked the fire and kited BOTH 22 and 23, spending the night in the clubhouse. Next year.

Wednesday's forecast is for 5-7kts darn near due south. Thursday doesn't look a lot better. We'll have to thank Paul for the loaners I think - but we'll fly!

BR - I have a small DC computer fan (quite small) but I think we could maybe frankenstein it to a 9 volt battery and fill with it? Won't be a 30 second fill but it might do. I'm curious to get the Phantom 18 unrolled and preinflate artificially - I bet it'll fly if it can fill. Last time it was out I was one of the few flying - even some standard cloth FSers were grounded but I made it home.

Sounds good,

I will shoot for 10:30. Rush hour traffic may delay me but I'll give lots of extra time.

Have a great time boys and may the wind gods bless you; so jealous that I'm out on the island for this. Guess some winds and low tides will be okay for some atb action as a replacement.

Home safe and sound. Our little friend Connor is pretty pumped about his successes today. Even moreso that kiteboyza put a 7m Blaze in his hands! He thought it was gonna be a big day flying the 4.7 but a 7M?! He feels like a king I'm sure.

Great to meet all you guys. Some for the first time, some once again. Looking forward to the next opportunity.

Thanks for sharing the photos kiteboyza. It was great to meet all of you. Too bad the forecasted wind did not appear but at least it was good enough to get going with the light wind gear. Too bad it picked up as we packed up.

Looking forward to riding with you all again. We'll be on ice until April at least ;)
