Chinook winds ?

I am home in Calgary . It has been cold and calm.

I keep getting told we will be getting a Chinook . It is setting up to look like one today ? The classic arch of blue sky is coming over the mountians. Warmer air pushing over the mountians and dumping warm wind into the foothills. Now if the wind forcast would agree ?

I am curious if this weather / wind phenomina sets up for any other foothill cities out there ? Salt lake ?

Lived in Eastern Washington for many years. Would have lots of snow on the ground for the end of November heading into December and a Chinook would blow through, with in a day or 2 the all the snow is gone and short sleeves and tennis shoes would come out and then the boots. A few years back, it was so warm for so long the buds would show up on the plants thinking it was spring.
Always hoped for the Chinook to come in the spring, not in the early winter.
