Went down the lake with the intention of filming a bad launch, clam shelling followed by a bow-tie and hopefully a recovery or two ... didn't happen
as the wind was nukin'
Good stuff. Next time don't forget your scud boots.
I did the same today with the 15m Charger. Been way too long since I had a kite up and found an hour to scud and get some jumps in at the beach.
Temps were barely above freezing but the action keeps you warm.
Can't wait for the clamming to bowtie vid. That is a problem I have launching the 15m Charger in <10mph. I notice one of the air inlets is not
fully open like the other. Static cling?
It's raining out here, has been for a while. Haven't flown in a while with the wet weather and wind blowing the wrong way It's good to see that someone can get out and about and have fun!
It looks like you're landing flat foot. When I skud jump, I found it easy (on sand) to land in a lunge, expect that on my back foot I drag the top of
my toe. Gives for a nice controlled skud after the landing. The below is a dramatic illustration, except a bad back foot posture

Jaymz - not open in my vid? Or your kite?
Arkay - yeah I'm not redirecting the kite so I come down flat ... I find the arcs have less float like that so the landings tend to be quite hard so I
TRY to avoid going too high. Don't have the keewee's yet to aggressively redirect ... it's technique I guess - the FSers are just like parachutes
The bow-tie untie ... took but a few seconds, I swear. Once the kite was on the ground I stood there looking at it thinking "Crap!" ... IIRC the left
wing tip had inverted (facing me) and I randomly tugged on both rear lines and noticed it start to come out of the bow-tie so I kept playing with the
left rear line (IIRC) and then the kite popped into LE down. Same thing happened the second time but Murphy's Law - I didn't have the camera on
PS. Spiderman has no package ... is it weird that I noticed that? :o
I'm still waiting for the wind to be crappy :o bet you never thought you'd hear me say that been nukin' wind for the past few days - in light of recent events, was probably a bit silly putting a 19m kite up in this wind
