For all those GoPro owners out there that may already own or thinking about getting an iPad, this may help sweeten the pot. I had read that they keep promising an LCD viewing screen as an accessory but after a year, it still has not made it to market thus making it difficult to see if the footage you captured is what you wanted.

Solution - the iPad camera connection kit. It did not work plugged into the GoPro directly but the SD card works beatifully with the other included adapter, which when plugged into the iPad dock connector, allows full viewing and importing of your videos on your iPad. You can trim them and post to Youtube from it as well.

Just figured I would share in case anyone is on the fence

You can also find smaller, portable & much cheaper, media players to plug the SD card into (like used Nokia Internet Tablets off of eBay - the later model come with a GPS and mapping app).

My Drift 170 HD has a screen and playback abilty on the unit.

I'm sure I'm a pilgrim in an unholy Go Pro land but I really think the Drift is a better system. I was actually buying a Go Pro when I saw the new 170 HD had come out.

The latest firmware for the GoPro HD allows you to watch while you are recording now. You just need a portable lcd screen.

Good news is that the LCD screen is available for your gopro.

Bad news is that we had some units instock but are sold out now.

Next shipment is 2 weeks.

It's not listed on their website yet.

Someone had a mod for his iPhone to Cam. I have search it out again.

+1 for the iPad, pics and video viewing on the fly. iPad 2 is coming, whoop whoop.

Would appreciate a heads up when you get some of them LCD screens in. I hate having to hook up my GoPro to the car's tv monitor all the time.
