Long Island, NY

Hey everyone... figured I'd introduce myself.

I'm on Long island and I was curious if there were any recommended spots to kite besides Floyd Bennet Field. I'm still a little nervous for the pavement.

Also, for the local beaches, the sand is really soft. Any recommended setups for dealing with the sand?

Drop a line, Lets go kite.

Big wheels on the buggy. And go really fast. If something gets in your way... Turn. Unless your Doublespeed. Then you ram it and show it who owns the beach.

But really take care and I find bigger tires do help in the sand. But if it is real soft like the upper beach at Wildwood even that doesn't help. Asphalt isn't that bad if you don't hit it. Only help there is lots of protection. Good luck.

I realize buggies have a huge advantage in the sand over a landboard due to tire sizing... any recommendations on how to Frankenstein my mountain board so it could be used in a beach type setting?

Welding god is the guy for this info. But as far as I have seen most of the guys and ladies on landboards are running normal tires. Maybe a bit less air pressure. Go and post this question on the landboarding thread here. You will get some answers.

I don't know LI at all. So sorry, but take a day trip up to CT and we can meet up at Hamonasset beach. We buggy there mostly. Good for ATB as well.

I'm at the Suffolk/Nassau border... basically in the middle of the island on the north shore. I'm definitely up for a road trip to Connecticut as well.
