FS Viron

So has anyone had the chance to test one of these out???? My curious mind is wondering how the 6m version will stand up when compared to a 6m access. The videos really make it look like a lot of fun to fly. The auto-relaunch and 5th line safety really look like a huge jump forward in both open and closed-cell foil technology. Not that I want to get rid of my access but given the chance I'd like to take one of these for a ride and see how they feel.:wee:

watch for the fast water relaunch, skip to like 6:30ish to watch flight action:

The early reports from FS indicate that the Viron is aimed towards teaching, so it's supposedly a very low-power producing wing.
I haven't been able to find any reports from any users who've flown them because I don't speak german. ;D

Yeah the German really caught me too. From the videos I can definitely see the potential for beginners. It would be great to see if the Unity will have these relaunch abilities when it comes out. I'm really loving my speed2 and it is nice to relaunch but that is even nicer. If only they created them with auto-zenith as well.:P

I didn't realize they were all that small. You would need some pretty big winds to get riding on those. It would be nice to have a kite that could go to 40mph. At least that is what they say will overpower a 4m. :eekdrull:

If I were to go for one I would go for 6m, but the 4m would be fun to hekp intro people to depower and fun buggy rides. On water the 4m would need nukin' to get going.

I've sold some Virons.

The Virons are not like the Ozone Acccess or the Pulse.
They are more beginner type kites and not as powerful per square meter.

From what I gathered reading from the FS site and a few others the Viron is even more of a trainer kite than a beginner. Awfully expensive trainer.

Ah, look at it as a kite guaranteed to not spook a newbie. Filling a void in the market, I'm sure.

This is partly why I think that iot would be a fun kite to own. My son could grow into it and for me it would almost like playing with a toy......well a powerful toy anyway.......but yeah its a bit pricey if that's all it is
