I was wondering if I could extend the foot pegs foward about 4" instead of buying the longer down tube? Is this possible? Any input?

You can. Its going to make the steering different. On the Libre race buggy, the pegs can be put in several positions. Im in the same boat your in though. I need just a bit more on my bug. Im thinking of ordering the longer down tube. They are really not too bad though, retail for $89.99. Can probably come by one for about $70.00

Thanks for the reply. I just got off the phone with someone and they told me its not a good idea to move the pegs. so I guess I'm gonna have to get longer down tube Bye the way I'm 6'6". JIm

I would guess your pretty cramped. Im 6'2", and I need a bit more.
