I’m a producer, doing a 30 minute TV documentary on Kite Boarding for a cable show.

I’m trying to get a handle on the birth of kite boarding and was doing some research and happened across the Tony Navarro kite boarding article.

Was this the first incident of kite boarding? Is Tony Navarro considered the father of modern kite boarding?

i think wipika was one of the first companys to make water or LEI kites they have some of the first patents on these kites. also try peter lynn, Robby naish, or Pete cabrinha, these are the lead designers and pioneers in this sport from a development and production side of this sport.

I'd love to get my hands on....any and all old footage of kite boarding/surfing ...please spread this around...
