Help Needed
Help Needed
I need a depowerable foil or two for my inland flying
for 10 to 20 gust to 30
I weigh 280 and am no stranger to power kiting but what i want is out of my price range the kite must handle gust extreamly well but i likum lifty.
I was thinking about used arks but i know nothing about them
I want safety i want to know what is too old safety has come so far in the past few years and i really don't want to sacrifice that
My price range is 300 RTF but i might fudge a little if i find the one
am i crazy or are my demands reasonable:puzzled:

ARCs have an unbeatable top end! You could find a Venom I or II quite cheaply. I agree with tridude, snag that VII 16m, you'll never regret it! I love
my V13. It's very easy to learn. Self-launching is easy, but can be frustrating at times... You'll get the hang of it. They don't have a great bottom end, but they do require less wind than an LEI of the
same size to get aloft, IMO. The V13 takes about 10 mph for me, and I can hold it down up to 22-24. I weigh 125 lbs... As for a safety system, front
line flagging works. The only time I ever need to pull it is when I'm solo landing, though.

That's a question for the ARCheads on here. I'm new to ARCs. The bar I use is compiled from various parts... 36" line leaders (front and rear leaders
must be parallel when the bar is completely sheeted in), 60 cm Slingshot Profire bar, Airush trim strap, 15.5" depower line, front line flagging on
the handlepass leash. ARCs like bigger bar sizes, methinks. My V13 flies better on a 60 cm than a 55.

I presume Tridude was saying use your Turbo Diesel bar, seeing the pic in your avatar. I was asking if he'd used a 2;1 pulley bar - which the TD's
use (though the TD3 can also be set up 1:1). I asked the question, because Arcs, especially the big ones, can really use long bars and long depower
throw. The TD 2:1 bar would give you more rear line movement, at the expense of heavier bar pressure, and they probably have enough depower throw.
But I haven't tried one yet on an Arc.

You're gonna get a much broaqder wind range out of a Venom 2.
16m is the sweet spot IMO. In you're weight range you would be able to muscle that wing in some damn stout winds.
13m V2 with me @ 220lbs is a schload of fun. at 25+. And nothing handles punchy wind better.

Don't let the size of the kite scare you. ARCs are gentle beasts when treated
with kindness. :D They're probably the safest kites I've ever flown. Good luck!

I setup a noobs 16m V1 for him. He picked up an older 2:1 Cabrinha bar for it. The bar had long throw but short trimstrap. Not ideal but worked. I was
riding it to 25 knots comfortably with that bar (in 1:1 mode).
I tried it in 2:1 first. I lasted about 30 minutes and I was pretty much done for the day, the bar load was extreme! Way more than I ever experienced.
I changed it to 1:1 for the next session.
I think if Arc's worked with pulley bars, they probably would come with them or you would see more people using them.
