Did a little digging myself, this is what I found. Supposed to be a much higher aspect ratio then the Neo II.

We are hoping it to be a closed-cell Montana. One of the last sizes was recently finalized and is now going into production. Available on the market
April/May. I'll try to get a demo for NABX.

I haven't flown a Montana except for version 2 and I've heard a lot of good things about the current version....A closed version would be sweet! And
April is my b-day month...hmmm ' What size would you reckon would be comparable
to a Charger 15 or Venon 2 16? Any idea on prices yet?

If it's got any / all of the same characteristics of the Neo line it'll be a great kite. I will never forget how similar I found the Neo to my Access
a couple years back. It'd be nice to have a regular foil kite to compete with the larger FSers.

Included in the package, the new Matrixx made by HQ Powerkites. The kite makes a very good impression, with impressive flight properties.
Unfortunately I could
not fly the kite in its upper wind rage, but even at 20knts the 9m Matrixx had massiv lift to the sky.

Looking at the bridle and lines this looks very close to the Frenzy I saw a couple of weekends ago if the price point is attractive might be what I
consider when I buy my next kite would love to know what the 12m will be going for?

Chris can correct me of course but I think what he means by the Matrixx being a closed cell Montana is not literally slapping one-way valves on the
m5, but where it sits relatively in the product line. If the Neo is stable and easy like the Apex, then the Matrix will be stepped up with higher
A/R, faster turning and greater lift/ pop/ float, like the Montana over the Apex. but still its own kite. It is said to have a very refined profile
and an "intelligent "three-pulley mixer system. Definitely can't wait to get my hands on one since I have finally lined myself up for getting on the
water this year

probably because it is a compound mixer system that likely changes camber of the foil as well as angle of attack.
HQ is known for taking curious liberties with the English language. Same company that calls a D-loop/ harness strap for control bars a "Harness Line
Fix"

The 15m Matrixx was at JIBE this week and both Phreerider and a I flew it, him on the water and me in the buggy. Being in the buggy, i did not ask
too much of it but I did note a few significant things. Stability. Park it off your shoulder where you want it and it stays right there, hands off.
Crack a water bottle, check e-mail, take a phone call, no trouble. No auto-zenith; just stays right there. Smooth power. Get up to speed, ask for a
little more and the power comes on with a smooth steady surge, like the Montana 6. Turning was smooth and easy with no surprises.
People who know Chad/ Phreerider know him to be soft spoken and philosophical when he talks about kites. but when he cam off the water with the
Matrixx, and I asked what he thought, he burst out with superlatives and excited comments like a kid on Christmas morning. I'll let him offer his own
comments rather than paraphrase and risk getting it wrong.
Chris tells me that he the bar that was on this pre-production kite was not what would be stock, but that the new stock bar should be better refined
so we will have to see.
Chris, thanks for the opportunity and let me know when I can get my own! Kudos to the guys at the home office.

Thanks to everyone that demoed the gear at JIBE. And thanks for your feedback Angus. Matrixx inventory will be arriving soon...looking like the week
after Memorial Day.
I couldn't resist testing the light wind performance of the 15m again today. Ocean downwinder from Nags Head to Avalon Pier with my 135 x 39 Bulldozer
board. I don't think winds topped 15 mph. Barely any whitecaps. Need to add a Spleene Door to my quiver. I'm spoiled after trying Tridude's board.
Thanks for the demo!

I rode the 9m for the first time this evening in winds 18 - 25 mph, kiteboarding soundside Nags Head.
Observations:
The Matrixx has more depower range via the bar throw than any previous HQ sheetable kite. Very smooth power generation via the bar with minimal
pressure. Perhaps not as much pop as a Montana VI (very close), but the Matrixx had tremendous float and hang time, as seen in Yannicks videos. It
also has more of an LEI feel than any other HQ foil I've flown. Decent turning speed - much faster than any NEO.
With kite resting at zenith and cam cleat fully sheeted in and the bar out, I noticed the wingtips have the tendency to tuck, seemingly decreasing
pull even further. Pulling the bar back extended the wings. The tucking does not occur with cam cleat sheeted out. The fifth line safety worked well
upon deployment at the end of my session.
Overall it was love at first kite. Looking forward to trying the 12m this weekend at the Hatteras Kite Expo.
