Harnessessess
So I just ordered my Twister II 5.6 and will be static flying for now.
Back when I had my 5m Ace I would use a strop to take the load off my arms every one in a while and hook into a harness, move the kite to zenth and
give my arms a rest.
I had a Dakine Tabu waist harness and it did the job but Im wondering once I move to a ATB or buggie, would a seat harness be better and how would a
seat harness feel while standing on the beach flying static?

My PL Divine looks a bit like a diaper but is very comfortable standing or sitting. No "crowding" if you know what I mean.

For static, a seat harness is probably best because it won't ride up like a waist harness will; especially when parking the kite at the zenith. Lifty
kites will... well, lift at the zenith more than other kites, and as a result will cause a harness to ride up more. The advantage to a WAIST harness
is it allows for more movement when on an ATB or whatnot, and having it ride up isn't too much of a problem because you'll seldom have the kite
directly overhead. But for what you're using it for, a seat harness will probably be the most comfortable... although I'd seriously consider a waist
harness if you plan to get moving. I've always used a waist harness and the slipping is just something you have to deal with when static. Again,
moving it's not bad at all. The only thing is, when flying fixed bridle on a strop line, it pulls on the harness HARD at all times, and when it rides
up, it constricts breathing. This is not as much of a problem with depower kites, but it is definitely something noteworthy.
The choice is yours, young Paddawan

Very good information. I would add that if you get a seat harness such as the Dakine Fusion, it also gives you good back support while giving you
some extra padding/protection down in the "backside" area. A lot of the boarders here seem to like that fact, especially when riding on our dry lake
beds where the surface is like sandpaper.
Another reason I personally prefer seat harness's is that it does lower your pull point slightly.
The decision on which is better is really up to you.

Thanks for the info Sean. I was ok with the ace and a waist harness so I'm thinking I may just go back to one then.
I was considering this one..

Since it doesnt have the lower leg straps it sounds like it would be more comfy to move around in without the pinching down there.
Donnie, that doesn't look comfy at all haha

For an ATB and static flying, that Dakine harness would be PERFECT Not sure about
a buggy though because I've never been in one :P But it looks to me that it will have a hard time riding up because it does come down lower than a
standard waist harness, and it probably has a lot of back support. And for that price, it's hard to beat

Do you still have the old harness ? If so just stick with it for a while since it served O.K. before.
I wasn't sure I would like a seat harness so I bought a Mystic ( Blazer? ) . It is a convertable seat / waist harness. I am very pleased lots of
support and comfortable. Mystic isn't cheap but you get what you pay for.
