Who here listens to music while they are kiting??? I ask because I am a purist, to me the sound of music is just in my way! Music makes the sound of
my whistling lines go away!!! And that just doesn't cut it!!! I love that music, the flap of ripstop in the sky, dyneema cutting the air like butter
making that sweet whistling sound (side note I reprogrammed my soothing sounds machine now "rainforest" is actually sound of my kite lines) I just
feel that music takes away from my fun and happiness. Don't get me wrong I love music but not when the sound of snow crunching under-ski is to be
heard and all the other mentioned beautiful sounds of our beloved sport.
\"Well we are all hurtling around in 3 wheeled, tip over prone, non crash tested vehicles with no brakes that we steer with our feet. Just
sayin\'.....\" --heliboy50
It depends for me. What kind of mood I'm in. I generally don't listen to music while I kite, but sometimes I do. My favorite "kite sound" if you will
is the wooshing that it makes when you sheet in hard and get some amazing float
I don't listen to music while I kite or ski or bike or anything like that simply because I want to make sure I'm aware of my surroundings. I often
have music in my head and would like to ride to music, but I can't tell you how many times (alpine skiing in particular) I've tried to give someone on
a trail the courtesy "passing on the L/R" only to be cutoff because they had no idea I was coming because they had their headphones on.
I don't want to be "that guy" kiting who never hears you coming up behind me as I redirect into your path only to cause a big problem for the two of
us.

I love a both. I like hearing good tunes on a laid back day, but i love hearing the wind when it is howling. Boosting big in an open field in
Illinois is my favorite, landing softly on the ground and being able to hear my own laugh is priceless. Sometimes you've gotta talk to yourself and
hear your own thoughts while you are trying to enjoy nature
I like listening to music..actually I prefer it...on 1 hand I am the only only kiter moving as everyone else is flying revs, So I just have to stay
out of there way. On busy days at the park I usually do not listen to music as people are crossing back and forth trying to get my attention just to
give me a thumbs up or dogs are chasing me on my board. I need full attention on crowd. I have had German Shepards, Rotties, Pitbulls chase me just
for fun, but the golden retriever was the most painful nip on my @ss. LOL. Usually dogs love me. :tumble:
I always have my music on - I love to listen to either relaxing trance or when the wind is whipping up some banging dance tunes. An old lady stopped
me in the park and asked me what I got out of it - I had to think really hard to answer her - the reply of a buzz like a hard on would not have gone
down too well. But seriously I like the etheral feeling of the music, very uplifting, pardon the pun and if you get a good rythym going the kite joins
in the dance!
for some reason i cant listen to music when doing things like kiting or snowboarding
I've tried multiple times to listen to music while snowboarding but it almost impairs the way I ride because Im always listening to hear if someone is
coming up behind me and it is kind of the same for me with kiting I like to be able to hear the wind howling in my ears and be able to communicate
with people around me
sometimes I listen to music while riding but only if I'm alone and with the right music it can be relaxing but I totally agree the sound of the ind on
your lines is amazing =]

Wind is like a drug: many people are addicted to it, too much of it and you could end up dead or in the hospital, too little of it and you\'ll go
crazy, and just the right amount makes for a good time.
i would love to have some music on, but i'm afraid it would distract me--flying overpowered as i do, distraction isnt a good thing for my
health........
always got the music crankin, thats how i stumbled upon kiting was walking the beaches of Caberete with the ipod when out over head it was a bird no a
plane no my new passion. knew i had to have one and learn this great sport always rockin the beats.
I've listened to it a couple of times when sunset was empty, but that was only to make me go bigger. A good beat or some metal seems to get me flying
higher. However, I usually don't especially if there are people and cars I need to be watching for
