So from my friends highly recommended advice, I ordered my self a TRX suspension trainer yesterday. I really wanna drop a few lbs for this summer (the
past month on night shift hasn't helped) so I figured that with an included 30minute run in the mornings I may be able to do just that........ Just
curious if any of you guys with any experience with one of these things, might have any exercises that help with kiting???Swimming might be in the
regime once I get into a full routine as well.
I also made this chinup bar from a piece of 3/4" i.d. stainless instrument tubing, and a couple 3/8 eye hooks. Way harder than a stationary bar
what I fly/ride:

6m Ozone access xt
1.5m Ozone imp trainer
144cm Airush Switch
152cm lib tech skate banana
MBS Pro 90
Jereme Leafe Pro 95
Looks interesting.... a bit spendy for even the basic kit. Principle reminds me of the Gravity Edge, though way more portable and versatile. Would be
interested in what you think of it over time.

Thanks for the link, I'll take a look at what it has to offer. @ indigo_wolf I too figure it could be cheaper. I tried to make a set but they were a
pain to adjust, so I sucked it up and bought the real deal. After today's session (will tell in snowkite section) I believe that I'm really gonna have
to work on my legs, and core. Really shaky when I walk up stairs atm. I'm thinking a cattle sled and some bags of sand to drag around the backyard,
would really help. Speaking of rowing I was thinking if I dragged the sled to one end of my yard with a rope strung out the other end, I could run
back and in sitting position pull it back with the rope. 20mins of that would really fire things up.

My TRX arrived yesterday For a very basic setup it is extremely effective, and
can be used literally anywhere. I just completed my first workout off the basic training dvd that came with my pro pack.:shocked2: I was surprised how
challenging it actually is. The workout was set over 40minutes also calling for a warmup in the beginning, and a cool down in the end. I'm gonna
invest in a scale in the next day or two and use my wife's measuring tape thingy for sewing so that I can monitor my progress. I also ordered the
flexibility workout, in a couple weeks I'll use the first workout one day and the flexibility the next day. Hopefully in the next 12 weeks, I'll see a
huge improvement. ATM I would recommend that everyone should try one out at least once, to see how such a simple design can be so diverse.

Shagg- here is a little motivation hopefully- at least on the weight loss front. I hired a personal trainer that i see once a week and supplement by
riding my bike on a trainer 4 days a week for 30 minutes a day. Strength training with the trainer and cardio on the bike. Started 12/2/10 at 256
lbs weighed in today at 231. Whatever exercise you do- just do it regularly. As for dropping the pounds- Write everything down you eat- i use
livestrong.com since it will count the cals for me, but when i get lazy and dont log in what i eat-i dont loss weight- it makes the difference. As
for inches i have lost a total of 9 1/2 inches from my waist, gut, chest, and neck. Pants went from a 42" to 38" I am half way to where i want to be.
Good Luck.

Hey its great to see you still hanging round...don't think I've seen a post from you in a long while. Yeah I actually got a bit of a surprise this morning too. I went and bought a cheapo scale to find that I'm
sitting at 182lbs. Six weeks ago before I went on this long stretch of working night shift I was 196lbs. Of course its probably just because in these
past 6 weeks I've mostly gone to work and came home and slept for 10 hours. Hopefully from this exercise stuff I'll be able to drop even more. Oh and
I also tried on my harness with just a t-shirt after seeing my weight. Way easier to get on too.:wee:

get a 2 ft bar and hang a 5lb to 10lb weight off it with enough paracord to reach from just above the floor to just above your waist.
Hold the bar with both hands (palms up) so it is suspended above the floor an rotate it to wind the weight up with the cord. Then lower it again.
repeat 5 times and then do a set palms down.
if you can do this for very long without your forearms starting to SCREAM then add more weight.
sweet, TRX....awesome workout. About a year ago I made a TRX look-alike and it works pretty well. Mine is a little slower to adjust from what I see
on the videos, but works pretty much the same. I even made it out of the black and yellow color scheme. Took a *while* to actually get together though.
Great workout though, tougher exercise than it looks for sure. I like it for the core, getting the little stabilization muscles, and stretching.
Nothing quite stretches like it. And ya, retail seems kinda pricey...till you use it. I would still say its worth the retail value.
If you haven't heard of kettlebells, I would check them out, especially if your interested in shedding pounds or keeping them off. It hits cardio and
strength at the same time = time saver.
this is a good video I found which shows the variety you can do....just like the TRX....it's pretty much up to your imagination on what you can do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhZgNKII4rw
Yeah, as the commercial goes, life came at me fast and I kinda fell out of kiting... And subsequent winter (i lack the gear to kite around here in the
winter) so now my life is pretty much stable, and I can fit in some kiting... just wasnt fun for me to talk about kiting when I didn't have the time
to do it... :dunno:
Lol I go thru cycles, this was marriage and new home mode... now I'm back in kiting mode.... Anyway, sluggish winter, and a new found obsession with
brewing... And my health and weight suffered a little, so now I just get up earlier and work out, and that insanity is nuts, if you get an itch to try
it is really fun!

I am still sore from yesterday. Unhooked, bar with 2.8m training kite, winds 13-20mph on the beach. Whole. Body. Workout. Stopped multiple times
over two hours, simply exhausted and laughing my ass off. It sure is nice being tricked into getting fit.
I plan to start training off the kite too when the weather is bad.
My shoulders hurt just watching that! I need to strengthen them because they have a tendency to pop out. Today I started back on the lat pull-downs
again. Always to the chest - never behind the head. I do need to get a routine when I am away from home. I just was away for 2 weeks with zero
workout time.
Clear the sound if you have kids from the music, but I bet this guy would be great at unhooked and aerial tricks. I wanted to be able to do those
uneven bars in the Olympics when I was a kid
Drew - did p90x for 5 weeks and dropped like 10 pounds and felt great once the initial and EXTREME soreness went away but it took too much time out of
the day to continue.
insanity is like 45 mins the first month, a week of "recovery" is about the same 45 mins, i think... and then around 60 mins for the second month
im just getting up earlier to do the workouts.... keeps me from drinking beer the night before :tumble:
impossible to get up at 530 with ANY sort of hangover lol
im in the middle of the second week, and i can count my abs! woohoo!! lmao! ive got a crappy 4-pack!!
(i'd post some pics, but you guys dont want to see my flabby a$$ after a 530 am workout lol)
i think im going to start collecting the stuff for the p90x workout... and yes, a buddy loaned me the plyo and yoga dvds... they are rough!!
