Biggest speed week in 8 years!
On most weeks, a run in the 50's would get the prize and win the week. In fact Week 11 was won by Chris Krug with a speed of 58.8mph in New Hampshire.
This past week, 50 mph was not even fast enough for the top 5. It was a very fast week across the globe.
For week 12, our big congratulations go to Petri Lehikoinen for having the fastest, approved speed on a snowkite: 73.55mph! He was riding in Helsinki,
Finland and has posted some links to his data and a video on this forum.
We would also like to recognize that there were several personal bests this week including Molly Savard who went a blistering 55.5mph on her skis in
New Hampshire. And don't say that is fast for a girl, because that is fast. Period.
See the whole list as well as prize winners on: http://www.stormboarding.com/speedranking1011.html
Despite the fact that it is snowing as I write, this weekend will mark the end of the weekly prizes for the speed contest this year. We realize there
is still plenty of riding around the wintery parts of the world so will extend the contest through the end of April. Keep on sending those speeds -
typically the end of the season is when rides go their fastest.
Congrats again to Petri for our highest speed in 8 years and enjoy the spring to all (be safe and watch for changes in the ice).
Think breeze,

Let me say thanks again to Racheal and Stormboarding for hosting the Speed Ranking again and for Kitestorm. Congrats to Petri for bagging the top
spot for the season and let me say a warm welcom to the "over 70's" club.
And no pink skirt for Molly for sure! That girl is really starting to haul the mail! Congrats to her on her new personal best.
I'm sorry to see less participants than years past but man it's awesome to see the speeds just keep going up. Even the snowboards are putting down
fast speeds.
I can't wait till next season.
