PL arcs for sale Sale cancelled on Synergy
Adjusting the quiver a bit for the lakebed. I see myself shifting more emphasis to the fixed bridle kites on the playa especially in winds suited for
these kites. I hope I don't regret doing this later but here goes anyway.
The synergy had maybe 5 hours of use on the playa but not many overall hours. It is incredibly dusty right now but I'll do a rinse on it and get some
pics posted up. The venom II is crispy and dust free and comes complete with the short 07 PL bar and lines. This kite could be mistaken for new and
unused, but it has been flown. Both kites have no damage or repairs.
Synergy 10m Kite bag and spars $425 (bar available)
Venom II 8m RTF $450 SOLD
Shipping included in price.

The V2 8m is a great buggy kite. Went around the wet spot on Harpers with it. Did nicely.

What color is the venom?
If it's black yellow and purple I am in BiG trouble and am very interested!!
Gotta try me a PL dangit!
Love me my speed 3 and if the PL makes me smile in the gusty days, it may be a whole quiver shaker-upper to fly closed cell exclusively.
No kites left
Maybe someday I'll snowkite again

Chudalicious, this size Venom would overlap some wind range between your 4 and 7m I would imagine, but would offer a different ride and not be a
complete match. This size is very forgiving for you to learn arcs on too but can be a zippy turner in higher winds when you are ready. The Venom
shows red blue and black when I do an in the bag check without completely unfolded. I've only flown this kite once as a trial run for about 15
minutes and didn't remember the color. When I opened it up to check, I noticed just how nice it looks. The pigtail on top, was gleaming white and
looked untouched by a larkshead. I offered an interested inquirer the option of selling the venom kite only if that is of interest. The short bar
would probably work for me on a future Phantom II in 6 or 9m.
I bought this venom primarily for my youngest son for use on the sodfarm. Moving to fulltime Ivanpah riding probably puts him on a small beamer or
apex. Wexler is an HQ teamrider and will rotate between Apexes and Montanas preferring depower.
702 I'm putting water on the back burner for now. I'm living the dream of almost every buggy rider in the world by moving to Henderson. And too, at
230 lbs (lost 9 lbs last week at nabx) , I'm not sure I'd ever have the kahunas to go out on the water in winds that could get me around well on a
10m. I bought that kite also with my younger son in mind for water use, but as always, he rides with me to fly kites and this bus will be making the
ride to Ivanpah to play now.

Thanks Rip for the confidence. I wish I had as much confidence in me as you do! In time maybe I'll feel like I've earned such respect.
NOTE TO ALL ON THE DUSTY KITE ISSUE
I took the advice given a month ago or so on here about white vinegar taking the alkaline dust remaining on the kite after rinsing and it works like a
charm! I hung up the 10m synergy in the back yard so it wasn't touching anything and rinsed off the loose dust. This brought it to about 90% clean
and I was pretty happy with that. Then I decided to do a test area on the black to see if the vinegar would work. I just dampened a washcloth with
the vinegar and wiped it easily with the cotton cloth, then rinsed and let it dry. I came back about 15 minutes later after it dried and the test
spot looked like new fabric.
So if you were hesitant on the synergy because of the dust, wait for the pics I post up tomorrow and see for yourself how great this works.

Bob,
At a belt busting 125 pounds, how much wind could I top out at on a 10m Synergy, approx.?
Or should I be asking Rip this question.
I put the 13m Venom away at 30 mph. Past that and I can't stay on the ground without someone there to hold me down. I'd like to use a 10m Synergy as
my high wind kite?

Remember the 12m synergy is slightly less power and faster turning than the 13 venom. I would think that the 10 would be a nice size down to
compliment the 13 venom without lots of overlap, but enough to be convenient and safe. I would imagine around 8-10 mph more high end with the 10 over
a v13.

the 10syn is a better match for 125# for land stuff. the range would be more around 20-25mph at the top end and as early as 8MPH.
just for a reference point a V13 in 25-30mph is alot on land. i can hover easily at 200# with sustained 30mph. seanny your modded V13 may have
blunted the profile with a TST and reduced it is out put. a kite that has reduced acceleration(slow) has less power.
a 10 syn has a PA around 6m which matches 10kg/1m of PA, a better match for powered riding, its a water index ratio that i came up with some time
ago. and your about 57kg

Here are some pics. I'm thrilled that flying a kite on the lakebed doesn't doom it to dinginess. The rinse put it back to it's pre nabx status.

I'm really puzzled on this still being for sale. Any input on the lack of traffic? The venom sold 3 times. Literally. I had to let 2 buyers know
it was already gone. If I was going to be riding at the sodfarm or on a windy beach, I'd not even consider selling this one. There is even a side of
me envisioning me keeping it too. Just curious if you have any insight.

Mougl, you have reservations that are keeping you from the D'arc side? You know, technically arcs meet the criteria to be considered a foil.

My main reservation is the usual summer wind here...
10-12mph is screaming for the summer, also fly inland on football fields so I'd need a large arc. Problem is I've flown larger ones and they were
pretty slow turners so a small field isn't ideal. Then the problem of solo launching and landing...

You might be short on wind for a 10. Inland isn't an issue since they soak up gusts as long as you have enough wind in the lulls. Self launch and
land really shouldn't be a concern at all. Watch the youtube vids. I still remember my first launch. I was horrified and then there it was hovering
up above me. In your winds you could stall land an arc and then just flag it. A 15-16m would be a good size for you.

Ditto on the 15-16m Arc for inland Florida flying. I live this.
That said, just after the frontal systems pass there is that narrow one-day window when a 10 is the right size. Hmmm 15--20MPH winds on grass. Good
times.
As to launch worries, Bob is right, watch the video. If you want to fly Arcs watch the video over and over 'til you can see it in your mind. At JIBE
I can teach you how to launch and land.
Watch Carl's "How to self-land an arc" video. It's a really good description of a really good technique.
If you watch those a few times just before JIBE you'll have the images fresh in your mind so things will make sense on the field.
