Video: Flyjump teaches Flyguy how to jump

Here is a video from the wildwood spring bash, on Friday Adam was able to spend a few minutes giving me some tips on jumping- Make sure you have the volume up so you can hear his tips and pointers. He is an excellent teacher and no question the student was very happy. Thanks Adam!
Scott

Video is 3 minutes and the end is the best!

way to go guys!

harder redirect, for an up wind line, at the apex will give you more controlled landings.

keep at it! see you guys at JIBE

A little more info- I thought i would share a little more info to help persuade more of you guys to try the board. I have been flying revs for over 20 yrs but bought a buggy and board and some fixed bridle kites ~3 yrs ago. I got okay in the buggy but was never able to ride the board, then last year in June i went out on the board with my 3.8 reactor and it was the first time i ever got really going in both directions- no transitions just go one way stop and go the other way. That same day i tore my acl (funky gust and weirder landing)and was unable to kite again until January of this year. In January I flew an ARC for the first time and since then the only kites i have put in the air are my ARCs- a total of 5 times, and each time I focused almost exclusively on the board. This video was my first attempt at any jumps and without Adam's help, i am convinced I would have been unsuccessful or worse yet -hurt. While i spent a lot of time on my arse, there were about a dozen jumps i landed without slaming my bum, and only one landing (not on film) that was painful (landed on my back and shoulder thank god for body armor) the others look a lot worse than they were. Getting ripped out of the buggy has always been a lot more painful because you cant adjust for it. So from a 40 year old kid- let me tempt you to give it a try and yes i may have a buggy for sale in the future.
scott

On another note to get better with sony vegas i am hoping to rework this video a little more and actually add some graphics or such to show what Adam showed me. Biggest tip- when sending the kite push the bar all the way away and then pull in at zenith

One of the things that I was told that helped a lot was : Once you are airborne be sure as you are coming down or as soon as you get all mixed up, you are pulling on the side of the bar you want to travel away in. You will be amazed at how that smoothes out the landing.

You did a nice job of landing with the board pointed downwind in that last one !
