Going to the beach...

I'm going down to the beach. First nice weather day of the year. It's about 58, clear and sunny! Wind is only 8/11/14 and it's coming from the south which is side shore fromthe wrong way, but I don't care :wee: p10, v19, p15, and rage6 will all fly. Question is what should I fly!

I started out in my usual spot but there was little wind 6-10mph _maybe_. I wanted to fly the phantom 15, but it wouldn't get off the ground :( So I pulled out the 6m and tacked down the for a few hundred yards until there was some wind. Probably 8-12mph max, mostly cruising as the wind direction and beach orientation didn't cooperate so there was really only one stretch where I could open up. Probably hit about 22mph but spent most of the time cruising at 15 or so. The downwind ride back to camp was a typical light wind downwinder in the buggy... all apparent wind, you stop, you walk :) Got back to camp and the wind picked up a little, maybe 10-12 so I pulled out the pulse 10. Just enough to fly. It was a trick to get it moving well but once it was up it had some decent power for the conditions. Would not be the kite of choice for a full day out in those conditions but it was a fun diversion. Pulled out the AKPro to have it touch sand for the first time. While I was just tooling about, it has some great feel. Really like the board so far; just need better wind and better direction.

Did you stay down on Manzo? Up here at Sunset on Saturday winds were reaching about 15 (sw) and made for some awesome down winders (reaching low 40's) Had a great 4 hr session :) Sounds like one of those rare days of better winds up here than down there. We (North Westerners) need to get on the same page of some kind of communication real time conditions.
