Anemometer/pads and helmets advice.

Hi being new to this and prob be flying alone a lot. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on Anemometers ive seen some on E Bay, there very differently priced was wondering what the difference was. surly they all do the same thing?.
I defo want to get some pads and helmet as like i said im new and will be flying alone. im kind of on a tight budget but want to get the best i can prob looking about £50 on pads and the same on a helmet (will spend more helmet if need to). Any reviews on safety gear that you guys have bought.

Many thanks.:puzzled:

I have a full faced MX helmet for the buggy and MBS pads and helm for the board. The MBS didn't break the bank but are very good quality. A far as an anemometer goes, I dont use one.

Hey man, welcome to the forum. I ATB, and what I usually wear is a ProTec skate helmet, gloves, knee pads, and ankle braces. That's all you really need. Anything more than that and I find that movement is very restricted. Plus, I live in Texas, and when it's 108 degrees outside I don't want to be dressed up like a marshmellow.

As for an anemometer...

Take a look at this.

Welcome!

I use this anemometer but it was cheaper on eBay - http://www.amazon.com/Ambient-Weather-HP816A-Handheld-Temper... - and now I don't use it much cos you quickly get a feel for the wind :) This helps too ... http://www.coastalwindsports.com/BeaufortScale.html

Protec helmet for me too, some random knee and elbow pads that I bought in a moto-cross shop ... largest size skater pads seem too small :o and wrist wraps if I'm feeling paranoid :)

Hillbilly gear IIR the name C is good stuff.

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

I am new to power kiting also, and agree with the above, you really dont need an anemometer. Just check the weather before you go

http://www.usairnet.com/cgi-bin/launch/code.cgi?Submit=Go&am...

Thos are very good for wind reports, then you will quickly get a feel for the wind and how much is to much.

I do the ATB stuff and have found these pads to be adequate, they do their job and are pretty conferable
