I needed a new toy like a need... well.. I dunno... so I bought a Shimano TLD15 lever drag reel. Figure if your spending that much time at the beach kiting... nice to be able to catch some big fish now and then.

Last friday shortly after snowbuggyr left... a couple of mid 20" redfish were the catch of the day. Now that the water is nearing 80 degrees already... time to go shark fishin

(Reel is mounted on a Ugly Stick surf rod and loaded with 325 yards of 25lb test).

You got your wind toys and no wind toys. Thats how I classify mine.

Used it yesterday when the wind was averaging 10mph... caught some junk fish and a ton of seaweed. Then the winds picked up to low 20's with gusts to 28. After that it was time to try my other new(used) toy. A CrazyFly 144x44 Raptor. That board rocked....
