That sheet-out in the middle there is the key for landing the big ones ... and not getting spun around the wrong way. Oh that and some wind too :(

The voices in my head say all of that. Somehow I have trouble convincing my body to follow through.

I got a chuckle thinking I pull the bar on the side I want to ride out right after I have sheeted out and am on my way down. Then I noticed they say to do so at about 8 - 12ft and I realized that is the right time I just don't go higher than that !

Sheeting out when you send the kite and then sheeting in hard as it goes across the window is essential. It gets the kite moving fast and gives you a moment to set yourself up. Also, I've learned that you shouldn't be afraid of starting with the kite a bit low in the window and sending it up diagonally. When you push hard upwind, the horizontal pull of the kite that is created from starting deep in the window translates into big lift.

On the water, there's nothing to it and you'll wonder why you #@%$#!-footed around for so long  on the land though  I'd want to be well down with the skills!
