Is this a good kite?
Hi
Somedays ago i was on the beach, and i saw some guys flying with a kite. When they were jumping they almost flying. And sometimes they were pulled by
the kite (Like surfing on the beach).
They inspired me, and i have now decided that i want to get one these kites. I have been surfing around on the internet i have seen that Ozone kites
are good quality kites.
Thats why i have decided that i want an Ozone kite. I think Ozone Flow 4m with handles is good kite for me, and just want to hear your opinion about
the Flow Kite.
Is it a good kite?
Do you think it has the power to fight against, and make me fly like the guys i saw on the beach? :D (Im going to fly
here.)
Mabye i want to try a mountainboard later. Can this kite be used for that?
My weight: 80 kg (I think about 160 pounds?)
Thanks for the help!
Regards
Kaka

Yes, Yes, and Yes. For your first kite it may be a little big, but not big enough to safely jump with. Most of the members here will recommend at
least a 5m kite for jumping and at your weight a 3m kite will pull you around the beach without any troubles. Ozones are among the best kites. Good
luck, be safe.

According to ozone, 4-6 knots is lowest wind it will fly in, 22-27 knots max, bft1-6.
Yes, there can be too much wind! Some days it's just better not to fly.
Tide? What's a tide? Man, it's 1000 miles to any ocean.

+1 for Traction Kiting 101. It's honestly a fantastic introduction.
+1 for the Ozone Flow. 4m is a perfect size for you. I am much lighter than you (barely 55 kg) and my all time favorite kite is a 4.1m Peter Lynn
Twister II. Just don't try to jump with it. :P Not yet.
Here is a list of companies that makes great quality, beginner LAND (in a few cases, land/water) kites:
- HQ
- Peter Lynn
- Flexifoil
- Flysurfer (Viron kite)
- Ozone
- PKD (I'd buy NEW if you go PKD)
- JoJo
...And of course there's a few more that I could dig for. These are just the brands I could think of off the top of my head. Generally, you should
start with a mid aspect ratio, open cell, 4-line foil kite between the sizes of 2 and 5 meters squared. If you have any questions, just ask.

Usually.
The trick is that with a 5m kite you strt out with too much power . You end up being tossed around and reacting to the kite to save your butt.
If you get a kite about 3m it will have lots of power to serve up + pull you around. It will turn faster and you will be able to become the master of
the kite much faster. ONLY after you master flying the kite do you start to really progress.
Notice how we all have a small kite in our bag . It is the best place to start , best size to introduce friends to the sport + you very high wind kite
once you get skilled. It is never a waist of money !

Stop being in denial...:tumble:
Just get a 3 AND a 5!
If you can't do both, get the smaller kite to start.
