If you have longer lines you have a bigger window and can create a longer power stroke. This allows you to get more out of the kite. Also often better
wind is up high and you can use that.
Shortening your lines will make for a smaller wind window and your kite will get to the edge where you want it and stay there better. The short lines
will mean fast responce to input at a time it is valuable. It is a great way to handle strong winds if you are going for speed and don't want to trade
down.
Changing line lengths is NOT the same as changing kite size. Only a way to get the most out of the kite you have.
