Tried a set similar to these and for fellow landboard folks out there, this isn't bad for just riding (particularly on hard pack) but jumping led to quicker failures in the trucks. I wouldn't recommend it for hard core riders or folks that spend most of their time on it, really meant for newbies.

Beamer IV 1.4m, 2.0m, 4.0m, 5.0m
Crossfire 3.0m, 4.0m, 6.5m
Prodigy 6.0m
Neo II 8.0m, 11.0m
Apex III all of \'em

I have a feeling I would destroy those relatively easily :( Although the design I must say is REALLY cool. I keep popping my stupid tires on twigs and such and it's really annoying. I need kevlar tires or something lol. I've broken my rims in ways I don't even know how to describe. But I'd definitely give these a good test :D

FWIW: There is malware on the linked page.

I think there was something posted about these tires last year on another thread although the inserts are a new twist. Pretty sure GI worked with Michelin on some prototypes.

If you are looking for airless tires for dicey terrain Cheng Shin makes foam filled knobby tires (200mm x 50mm). that fit on standard ATB hubs.

Sam

The person to hit up for more info is DirtDave... you can PM him here.

The Surfing Dirt thread where Tweels and the Michelin variant are discussed can be found here.

The Michelin version looked like this:

If you look on the second page of the SD thread, you will see the GI prototypes for Bazookas for the street (no treads).

Thanks for the info...I have heard about Michelin non pneumatic wheel...

the thing that surprise me is the collaboration between Michelin (large corporation) and GI(rather small)...
