swift current sask kite festival...

The Windscape Kite festival in Swift Current Saskatchewan.
About 2 hours drive from me, if I wasn't jet lagged with a jet lagged baby to boot - I'd have gone...

You could have met up with a couple of friends of mine that are guests from Ontario and also Rolf Zimmerman is there - just spent a few days flying along side of him and the team in St Honoré Quebec last weekend.
I hear you'll have some company coming from Ontario anyway tomorrow looking for some wind action.

Remember that song by Dire Straits that went... "sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug" ???

Well, Thursday night my son went into the hospital with a seizure caused by a high fever after and he didn't get out until Sunday night. Hell of a scary and stressful experience. I also missed all of the festival, something I had been waiting for for 3 months to take my son to... I was the bug. I even stayed up late several nights to get my new NPW ready to show off there. :(

Then... Monday morning I get a call from Tom White of NPW9b fame http://members.shaw.ca/kiteman. He was on his way home and just wanted to say hi and wondered why he didn't see me at the festival. We then get together for a mini session of NPW flying and talking kites and building tips. On top of my son getting all better... It made my day. :) I am the windshield again.
