What Size?
Hello,
I have been snooping around here for a month or two now and decided to register
I'm 15 and have been flying for 4 years. I own and a 2m hornet and a 5m radsail.
I'm quite light (about 110lbs) and was wondering if I transfer to kite surfing which is what I wish to do within the a year or two. What shape and
what size kite should I be looking at? Bear in mind, I don't have the money to go out buying $1000 worth of equipment, although I wish I did:wee:
Here is an idea of what wind speed we get around here http://www.windfinder.com/forecast/galway
Thanks,
Brad

welcome!
Dido to Bladerunner, check out the local area and talk to the guys. They know the seasons and the sizes that work best.
I wish it were different, but there no getting around the fact that kiting is a $ hobby. You're not gonna be far off the $1000 mark when all is said
and done. You'll need a kite, board, harness, and wetsuit. You'll be able to snag a used kite that's several years old for about $400 range, used
board for about $250 range, and harness, maybe $100-150 used, and then the wetsuit on top of that. So....getting pretty close to $1000. That's just
the nature of a sport that's equipment intensive.
Have you considered landboarding too? You can get out in less winds on a landboard than waterkiting.
