12m LEI

As long as it flies and doesn't leak I would be interested. I am severely limited with only an 8m kite.

Cheers,

Dave

Hey guys,

Thanks for looking out for me. I guess I am looking for something RTF... with kite bar/lines/etc. I'd like something pretty similar to the 8m Cabrinha switchblade I already have.

Thanks again!

Did you see the 10m F-One Bandit that's for sale? It's a bow so would easily be same power as a 12-14m C kite.

I can put you in touch with a buddy here in Ontario that had a 12m Ocean Rodeo Rise complete for sale around 450.00 - he'd probably negotiate if he has to take into account shipping it to you that would likely run around 40.00 as a guess. If it's still available. There was a 16, 14, 12, 8 available and another friend took the 16/8.
you can U2U me and I'll put you in touch to talk if interested

@bigkahuna: not totally familiar with the differences between bow and c. I think I would rather just stick with C for now as I am still pretty new.

@BR: i am gonna look into that kite.

@tridude: where are you located?

@markite: U2U will be sent shortly.

C-kites are antique technology. For the past 5+ years, bows, SLE's, and delta kites have taken over. That's why hardly anyone sells C-kites anymore. If you're a beginner, all the more reason to get a bow/SLE as they are friendlier to fly and easier to relaunch. Whatever you do, don't pay a lot for a C-kite as you're not likely to be able to sell it (that is unless you find some noob who doesn't know any better). Isn't your Cabrinha Switchblade a bow?

+10 on the Bow/SLE. My first lesson way back when was on a C Kite and it was enough to have me scared about the next lesson. That second lesson was on a Best Guroo which stunned me with the relaunch compared to the C Kite. Further love when I flew the delta T3's which were enough to get me to make the change.

My first water kite was a C kite ( Slingshot Fuel). It was hard to launch and impossible to relaunch. Also no depower at all. I heard it was a great kite but didn't know that they were for an experienced kiter. C kites are very powerful and fast but very unfriendly. Stay away from them or you will get hurt.

@van - The Slingshot Fuel -was- a good kite way back when they first came out (I had a Fuel 15 and loved it). But compared to one of today's kites it's also an antique. The technology has really leaped ahead over the past few years.

Mmmm, I guess I am confused about the difference between a C and a Bow... On second thought maybe my Switchblade is a Bow... and it has tonnes o depower... back off the bar and the thing will just float with less pull than a stunt kite.

Sorry guys, but I guess I am still new around here.

What I want is a 12m kite with lots of depower and lots more power. When the winds get low, my 8m is just not enough!

Cheers for all your help.

Here's a pic of a C-kite (North Rhino). Note how the 4 lines all connect to "corners" at the tips.
