typically considered a bad idea as many things can go wrong. the equipment isn't really wasnt designed to do that... but you see lots of utube videos of kids doing dumb stuff. There are a bunch of videos of kid teathering to an atv over land. now that's just crazy; at least over water you have a good chance of not dying. there is a guy here in the gorge teathers himself a lot. gets both flack and support for the kite community; jury is stll out.

That's a fairly common thing to do in Egypt apparently - there's masses of video's like that on youtube ... looks safe enough though - they're miles away from the shore :dunno:

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

I thought it was going to be a vid about being tethered static over land which seems rediculously risky (but fun). This just seems to be more like a paraglider tow deal to me. Though I agree that the equipment isn't built specifically for that sort of duty I suspect it's not being stressed beyond much of what it would deal with in agressive wind conditions.

It looks a lot like hillside soaring without the hill to me.

I gotta say it was educational for me to see how he descends and scrubs speed. I've seen it in videos before but it's rare you get to see the kite and the kiters and how they interact while looping.

Man was he up there.

Thanks I'm wide open to a sponsorship if anyone from Gin is listening :smug::rolleyes:

Not the first time this has been done. When the Instinct came out there was a fairly lengthy video from Ozone featuring the same thing over and over and over with much longer tow sessions in much tighter spaces.

Phreerider, don't let this ruin your perception of Gin. If anything, focus on how well the kite peforms :wee: and not the actions of the kiter. :puzzled:

gotcha, just puts newbies in bad situations and makers should be sensitive to that effect.
down for solid gear, no doubt.

Gin is a big name in para sailing rigs, maybe they built some of those qualities in their kites ;-)

Konrad has a Zulu II and it seems to fly more stable then my Naish. Quality is top notch.

Kite School near me demoed the Zulu. The instructor told me it was the best built LEI he ever saw and flew great to boot too.
