Totally unrelated to kiting, but thought i would post some pics of our bouldering / top roping from this weekend. This was the first time that I was
the one having to set everything, in the past when Andrew and i have gone it is with some friends of ours who are very good climbers and they take
care of all the safety rigging. We spent most of the morning on this boulder (Juliets Tower) it is a 30 - 40 foot boulder with several routes on each
of the faces, And this was Devans and Carters first foray into climbing. A good day was had by all.
So share- when the wind dont blow what do you do?
I spent most of this past sunday painting my next set of miniatures. I'm on the last two... once I get them done... I'll get some pictures and post
em.
BR- Thanks for reminding me of that- I actually have a big stick from a couple of years ago that my bro gave me. The boys have been riding the long
board and they dont like the stick but i think i will have to give it a spin again this afternoon

Been busy every w/e , took the whole famdamly to Gettysburg and did some all night ghost tours. Me and the little guy did a tree top obsticle course ,
the following week me and the big guy took a couple of inflatable kayacks on a 5mile run down Ninemile creek , shallow water and log jambs made it
interesting. Took mine and three other yahoos to Herkimer diamond mines one day to bust out quartz crystals. And last but not least , again went to
Adirondack Extreem Adventure to climb thru the trees , me and 5 kids , three finished the course and three had to be lowered to the ground. Spent last
evening diving for coins off a peir in Skaneateles NY "stealing peoples dreams and wishes" my nephew said "this is so cool , its like finding
treasure"

Wow.... I wonder what the going rate is to fix a TMI meter. :o
When the wind is dips to low or zero, there are still single/dual line kites that will fly. One of my favorites is the Blue Moon Kites 61/49, an
"active" single line kite.

Took a tumble on the way in with the " Big Stick " today
Hit my back wheel with the stick and slammed down on my elbow. It hit a split in the sidewalk and made a big deep wide gouge. Had to go to emerg. and
get it sewn back up. NOT pretty!
Funny, I came back to grab myhelmet having a feeling I was in for trouble today. Wrong peice of safety equipment but I was glad I wasn't a no helmet

I feel sorry for you guys, we've had over a week of EPIC KITESURFING CONDITIONS! Yesterday was by far one of my best sessions ever. Waves were chest
high with a couple of higher nuggets, wind was 20-25 gusting to 30.
:wee:
But when the wind doesn't blow, I surf. I'm really a surfer first and a kitesurfer second so my favorite time of year here is when the wind is
blowing offshore and there's a storm to the South pumping wave after wave. If the waves are tiny, I break out my ocean kayak, that's kinda fun. And
when the wind and surf are both dead, the wife and I bike the trail that's near our house.
Rock climbing / wall climbing is a fantastic workout. I did that back when I was younger. Closest thing we have to a rock face here is a sand dune.
surely somebody SUP's...i'm leaning towards this new sport. I whitewater kayaked many years before kites and had a cusatom surf kayak. but i have
never stood on a surf board. i rented a SUP last weekend and it just didn't work--too small a board. but it appears my running days are over (a
marathon and many 1/2 marathons, 10k,5ks) and i really need a regular after work workout.
We have a fair number of SUPers here and the local surf shop has been doing demos every weekend. They do nothing for me, personally, but my wife
loves SUPing. They're making wider SUP's now a days which make it easier to learn. In fact, there's a huge selection of SUP's out there, everything
from flat water racing to super short boards for wave riding. Like everything else, as the sport ages the technology improves.
I fly radio controlled airplanes with 26-52cc gas engines , 72'-109' spans. After all , no wind
is just what they like! Then there's the Honey-do list (does it ever end) Kayaks, wife and dogs pretty much round out the play list.
