Put your kites in vacuum bags and stuff them in a back pack. As for the board… what I did with my landboard, was take everything off of it (excluding
bindings), packed that stuff with my checked baggage along with the spars for my kite and bar/lines, and carried my deck and kite on board with me.

I just love the "Deceiver"
http://www.northshoreinc.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory...
On a recent trip I stuffed mine with golf clubs and bag, golf shoes, one kiteboard, two PL arcs, a shorty and some other odds and ends. Very well
padded and everything traveled in tact.
Only problem was flying out of Toronto where they actually weighed it. 78 lbs. Cost me $58 to get it back to Edmonton.

Going to Nabx this year I used the golf bag. I had a buggy (Flexi Scout) and some kites for just under 70 lbs. I flew SouthWest and it worked going outbound - no fees. After the
the Skycap lifted it (eyebrows raised) he asked if it was really golf equipment and I just said yes but with a lot of other gear in there too- in case
he looked (he didn't). He took a $5 tip and did not charge me.
On the way back they they weighed it and nailed me for $50.

I've got 2 - a 160cm North bag that holds 2 boards and 4 kites and wetsuits and stuff ... too big for international travel and I bought a Naish Golf bag decepticon, 140cm I think ... I'll try that for
international trips next time we go.
I tend to jam all my gear in check-in, then my clothes in carry-on. Yes, I travel that light :o unlike the wife ... but lets not go there!
Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

I use the NSI golf bag... I usually travel with a polo shirt and golf cap
Checking curb side and they pretty much won't ever charge you either.
