I've used the water tight bags before for my phone but was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a water proof / shock proof phone that they
use while kitesurfing or buggying. Not looking for anything to dive with, just something that can handle a few feet of water. I was thinking
something I can strap to my arm for emergency calls or to receive calls ( my wife calls me every 5 minutes when I go kitesurfing alone).
I found a Samsung B2100 that can handle 3 feet of water for 30 minutes that is price reasonably but don't know how it performs against dropping or
abuse.
I opened this thinking it was a joke because they are plastering this ad all over the tv for a water proof shock proof phone
In the ad this chick sticks one on the front of her surf board and takes some pretty good video with it I am sure about one thing it is probably just
as pricey as the others

In the buggy, I have my iPhone in a Otter Box Defender case. However, I do not spend much time in the water while buggying... I dont take my phone out
onto the water with me. I did, at one point have a little water proof bag I used for my blackberry, when I was forced to take it with me at all times.
Not the case anymore, so they both sit in the car...

We replaced my girlfriends old phone with a Samsung B2100 about a year ago and thus far she has been unable to kill it. That's high praise.
Battery life if pretty impressive. Battery compartment has a gasketed screw to keep it sealed up (you can use a coin edge to loosen it). It is
absolutely imperative to make sure the charging port cover is fully inserted to insure that the phone remains waterproof.
In addition to the standard phone features and camera phone (pretty decent one at that), it also includes a handy LED flashlight that's pretty
functional.
Believe we ordered an unlocked one through Adorama in NYC for a smidge over $100.
Hadn't seen the Tuff-Tec phones before. I like them.

I started looking for a waterproof phone not just for buggying and kitesurfing but because my daughter just killed hers when it fell into the toilet.
She made the mistake of powering it back on before it had the chance to dry off. My kids are also destructive with electronics. All of their laptops
are missing keys, have no idea how that happens ..
The samsung B2100 looks like a good bargain since it can be had for under $100 and looks simple and durable. We use the Panasonic rugged laptops out
in the fields for the instrumentation techs. They are great. You can drop them on concrete from 4 feet up.
My question about it. Does it call 991 from your pocket like my Samsung T105G.?

If you need to protect an iPhone, there's the LifeProof. It's got the same ratings as the Defender (which has saved me several times) and is
completely submersible. It's not the cheapest option, but I'd rather spend a little more and be sure that the sand and water is staying out.
Go ahead... tell me to "go fly a kite!" Please!

my uncle had some contractor phone that could be left sitting in a bucket of water overnight/run over by forklift
It was pretty badass, one of my ex-gf had one because she was #@%$#!ing retarded and broke just about everything she owned.
Still broke it though... somehow
I don't know if they still make them though, it was seriously a tough phone.
I use LifeProof.... Its nice...... bulky a bit so its hard to find belt pouch for it , mike and speaker loose some volume , charger door is not
working with my Monster Cable car charger .... too wide to fit opening , same thing with docking station ......
All those bond and I still love it .... I am in construction so lots of things is happening .... I don't care if I drop it to toilet or talk
on a rain anymore .....
