Last year was my first time at NABX. I used some pretty worn standard ribbed barrow tires and I was OK. Keep in mind I am in a race bug, though. Maybe someone with some more experience should take this question... I will back off. Looking forward to meeting you, Slawek, and keep up the AWESOME video work!

You can check out this link,
http://www.tiresunlimited.com/ALL%20TIRES/Carlisle/carlisle_...
There migh be someplace to get them for less but I have always had good luck with the vendor above. There usually is some one on the playa that bring some extra. Corey what about it?

Buggy-Brethren,

Any tire can work on the playa.
2-ply or 4-ply - Doesn't matter.
Bicycle tires/rims to BigFoot.
Treaded or smoothie.
They all work.

The playa surface is very grippy.
Yet, you can slide.

If you're a slider, the 4-ply tires will probably last considerably longer than 2-ply tires.
If your tires are worn, this might wear them the rest of the way.

I have tires with a strip of casing showing ALL the way around.

Keep your tire pressures up out here.
I've found many who don't check and ride with less than 15 psi in their tires.
Keep it around 25 psi or so (depending on ride comfort vs speed) and you'll be fine.

I don't like to bring product to the playa.
Makes it "work" instead of play for me.

I will deliver tires if you've pre-ordered them.
Please help me keep my business in the shop
and my butt in my buggy.
I appreciate it.

Safen Up! Buggy On!

I have worn out a set a tires a day(not in a while) at Ivanpah. The last few times we were able to run the enduro, i had flats due to wear through on one of the three brand new tires i had installed.

It is possible to make it through the week without changing tires.

It all depends on how windy it is when we are there, how much you ride, and how hard you ride.

You can for sure make sure you have extra tires out there, there's time.

If you are going to ask Corey to help out, please help him out with pre-payment so he doesn't have to work, he's funny about vening on the lake bed, even though he more than pays his way.

ps. i rode past Elmer's just a few hours ago, looking good!

Zloty,
My web site is: www.windpowersports.com
My e-mail address is: corey@windpowersports.com

I don't stock any 2-ply tires.
While they work fine on sandy beaches, they simply don't have the durability for our use.
No real cost advantage either.
2-ply and 4-ply tires cost almost the same.

I try to have treaded and smoothie tires in stock.

Tires are not determined by brand of buggy but by rim.
I assume you have the standard plastic rim?

Cool Zloty,

Visit my website and place your order.

Thanks for the heads-up about having spares in stock.
I'll give that some thought.

What is your arrival date?

As I plan to attend both the pre-event and nabx, we should know when and where you'll arrive and need those tires.
These spares or are you coming tire-less?

BTW... Have you remembered to register?
Haven't noticed your name on the list (almost 100 registered riders already!)

Cool.

I'll be coming out on Wednesday as well.
Planning on camping through the weekend - Weather permitting.

I'll be bringing all pre-orders that haven't been picked-up, out with me.

It'll be great living in buggytown again.
