New flyer in central jersey

Hi all.

I've been flying fb's for a few months.
Flying mainly in a few soccer fields by central jersey, I haven't been able to find any bigger fields/parks.
Any flyers around the area have any good spots?

I recently got my first depower and the xr+ buggy(both from pkf sellers)
Will be looking to complete my quiver with maybe an 11 and a 15. Eventually I'd like to try both kiteboarding and kitesurfing. Looking to try some flysurfers or arcs for that.

I will certainly try to attend wwbb. Looking forward to get some tips and ideas from the pros

Thanks,
Martin

Welcome to the funhouse,

We have a few local buggy spots here in Monmouth County. Sandy Hook is a great kiteboarding spot and has smooth winter winds for snowkiting. I've been kiting a few years but no "pro" status here yet ;-)
Hope to see you at WWBB or The Cheezeball Rally at Floyd Bennett Field next month.

Where are you located?

Hey Martin,
Welcome to the forum!
Another nice place for learning kiteboarding is Dewey Beach. It is a little bit further away, but it has shallow water on a large area. I'm going there tomorrow. I'm currently in Ocean City, MD, on vacation. Hope it's not gonna rain all day.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone,

What really got me to finally post here is the support I saw towards airin iin these past few days. It seems to be a really supportive community.

@Jaymz: I am in New Brunswick. Spend a lot of time in Cherry Hill though.

@Tib: Dewey Beach is quite a hike. I will keep it on the list of places to go.

Send me a U2U with your contact info. I'll let you know when we start riding. Haven't been in the buggy since Wildwood, but spending alot of time on the water @ Sandy Hook and Barnegat Bay whenever there is good wind and time allows.

We'll have the beaches back in a few weeks :wee:

Our small half mile local buggy beach is on the Raritan Bay and good with N-NW winds and low-mid tide. Should be less then a 30 minute drive from NB.

From Cherry Hill you can take ACE to GSP and ride Brigentine or Wildwood. Floyd Bennett Field is another good spot, but riding on old asphalt, a good helmet, gloves, and pads are a must.
