What went wrong why didn't the kite fly away. Was it attached to the buggy. What about the releases. So many questions lol. I just don't want this happening to me.

One line wrapped up like that is enough to cause a death spiral, due to the rigid LE and struts ...

In all honesty, regardless of what kind of kite you are flying, if you run over one of your break lines you are going to get a death spiral. The trick is to keep your break lines above your tires, and not on the ground in front of them.

I've done this before with both my flysurfer kites and fixed-bridle. With a fixed bridle, it actually snapped the breake line. Not pretty. Recovered everything, but it was ugly. With the depower kite, I was able to grab the break lines and land the kite, stake it and recover everything without any damage.

Fortunately, this normally happens with the kite CLOSE to the ground, meaning that it doesn't normally take much to put the kite INTO the ground and stop it from pulling you along...

Now how long did you think it was going to be before I said something about this?

Now young grasshopper, you did ok for your first attempt at "gift wrapping", but you still have a ways to go.

Not a bad job wrapping up your front wheel, and even better with the buggy drag. However you still need to work on wrapping all three tires at the same time. The trick is not just to get your brake lines on the ground, but to get your power lines on the ground and wrapped up by your tires also.

Since my computer crashed a while back I no longer have the photo evidence, but I believe Rip has some pics of how a "Master" wraps lines around all three tires at the same time.

I'm proud of you grasshopper, but you still have a ways to go to reach the level of your master.

Keep up the good work.

I think you're just asking for trouble and tempting fate if you call those lower lines your "break" lines.. ............:saint::rolleyes:

Also, you must wrap up all 4 lines with all 3 tires to call it a "CSA"

Ok thanks for the explanation. I never ran over a "break" line or "brake" line, which ever you prefer, before. I have had a death spiral but not one that took my buggy with it. Mine involved a line getting wrapped around the bottom of the handle when i let go. It took me a few hours to re string the kite....SO MANY TWISTS..so many.

I am glad that I am not the only one who "wraps" his wheels :Ange09:
A couple of months ago I added a twist to my rapping, I ran over my arm with the real wheel while trying to stop :ninja::embarrased: and still in the buggy [need a twister emoticon :Ange09:]

I had a day that almost ended like that. I was overpowered and steering downwind to dump power. The power wasn't dropping off fast enough so I popped the safety. The bar snagged on the fork and the juice did not let up much at all as I lost control of the kite. I kicked the bar twice before it finally let loose and the kite flagged.

It looked so very much how this video started.
