Flysurfer Psycho4 15 $800

This is InvertedForce's kite that I bought recently, flew once and am now putting up for sale because I want a Speed3 21 :D

Here's the original thread ... add 2 hours to the use and it's the same
http://www.powerkiteforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=17189&p...

The price is US$800 plus a $50 donation towards the shipping ... thanks for looking!

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

Kami... just got my first FS and it is an 8m Pulse2.... I have one flight on it to test out the safeties and get a feel for it. I have another FS coming in shortly.

I am thinking this might be a good one to round out my FS trial for now.....

Can you fill me in on how the Psycho 4 flies in comparison to a Pulse 2?

Thanks.....

Whoa whoa whoa! When the 2 biggest holders of kite equipment start swapping stuff around it can mean only one thing. Conspiracy to corner the market! As self appointed president of the KEC, (Kite Exchange Commision) I will need to look into this exchange and make sure this acquisition doesn't diminish market availability for any particular line of kites. It was arcs we had our eye on a few months ago and now this new trend of flysurfer buying. News at 11! :ninja:

the market has always been Twinskins and Flysurfers. they hold the most value.

where were you about 2 weeks ago!!! if I just didn't order a FS Unity 12m for the crew, i would want this instead. it would go well with my S3 21m. i only have two riding conditions, big wind or next to nothing. LOL. but i had fun on my days off with the CH 15 and the FB Radical 128cm

What a bunch of comedians y'all are

I've never flown a Pulse2 sorry, goofball. I HAVE flown a Speed 2 and a Speed 1 ... it's faster  Turns and feels much more like an LEI - easy to whip around and make power. Great hang-time and easier to make the big boost than my (big) LEIs or the monster Speeds ... kinda feels like my Crossbow 13 does ... but the triple depower makes it easier to fly ;) and it makes more power, of course ...

I'd keep it but I want my Speed3 21 :(

Sounds like us, Rip - Summer of Silberpfeil this year!

GB
This is a great kite and could fit your quiver. I had a Pulse 2 8 and this kite only. If you can fly the Pulse 2s this kite will feel so smooooth. It is not a light wind kite but with aquired skills I belief it could go pretty low. Its alot more user friendly than the speed 2 and is easy to relaunch on the water. It did take me awhile to realize it flew better with more depower than I was use to. Hope this helps.

na, na, na

the 21m is for light wind sessions on butter flat with the Door.

i would want the 15m but i got a Unity 12m instead.

if i got the P4 15m i would need to give up my CH 15m

nice kite model,
I've got the 12. Haven't flown the pulse and have spent only a little time on a big speed, so can't compare too much.
Here's my experiences...

Psycho's main characteristic is its power building ability through apparent wind. The P4 doesn't have as much static pull (15 is a bigger size though...), but builds its power through apparent wind quickly. So, likes being moved around till that sweet spot is hit, it is not really a light wind kite because of this but still can do reasonably well if you master the lightwind technique, and this characteristic of the P4 means that it is built for jumping...send it back quickly and you've got lots of power. You can boost high with the P4 and the float is sweet!! The jump height is controllable though, so no worries. The p4 has pretty nice turning speed too.

Gotta watch not pulling in the bar too much cause the P4 will backstall on you, and there is aesthetic tip tuck on lots the p4 out there, mine has it. Dido to the lightwind technique, bar out till the apparent wind builds then gently pull in as the kite allows. In really light winds, let the bar out gently on the upstroke, and pull in a bit on the down stroke.

Get to know it and its a fun kite!

I'm hoping he 21 will have the grunt of my 19 now but a bit more range & depower up the top end ... and faster turning  a few days recently, the wind has picked up just too much for the 19 but I've felt uncomfortable, even on the smaller board ...

What kitedelight said is true, although I didn't notice too much tip tucking - I was working it pretty hard though. Backstall at the bar is great for jumping cos it stops overflying.

Great kite but ... I need more speed :D

ya, for sure. I find uses for the backstall too. :)

ya, I should clarify about the tip tuck comment, I mention tip tucking cause someone that doesn't know the P4 might assume the occasional tip tuck means the kite has a problem or is out of tune....when actually most P4 have occasional tip tuck going. Doesn't affect performance (unless the kite gets out of tune), so it's not a 'problem' so to speak, just a unique quirk about the kite.

Never had a problem with tip tuck on the 15?? I did read in Foilzone that some of the smaller sizes had tuck..

Ya, heard the 15 is generally better than the 12 for this stuff, and some guys apparently have no tip tuck at all with the 15, like Larkin. Still like my 12, so the 15 gotta be a sweet unit.
