Our web site does not allow us to up date the dates until November. We really want to fix that, and are working on it, but It's complicated.
Induhvidually i've been letting people know it's the 3rd of April through the 8th of next year.
AND THIS IS PROBABLY WRONG! NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH
MOST LIKELY IT WILL BE MARCH 27TH THROUGH THE FIRST OF APRIL!!!!
This is because of the NALSA folks that have their event first and we share the tents and port a potties with.
We will be trying to get a bigger marquee next year as well(that's tent for those of you raised in the U.S.).
All sorts of good things are planned, and we will start rolling some of those out to you as the year ends.
Stay tuned, and pass the word.
Work starts now on making our 10th anniversary, and Flexi's 40th really a big deal!

Looking at the dates and found that NABSA is hosting the World Cup, April 5th to the 13th. They are expecting around 300 competitors world wide.
Going to be hard to decide which camp to play in.
Going to be a lot of enjoyment going on for that week :bigok:
Appex buggy, Libre hardcore buggies.
Flexboardz. Blokarts.
PKD Century Soulflys. NPW's. Nasa Stars.
A few other less flown oddballs,
Line sets from 10" to 328" or 2m to 100m.
worlds only AQR that works.
North American distributor for PKD.

Oh NO! NABX has stepped forward enough to match up with spring break for the kids. That would be all fine and good for me and the boys, but that's
one of the few times in the year we can take a family vacation and have time to reach out and do something special as a family. nabx does not meet
that definition with my wife unfortunately.

It's not a rumor. Word is $100 a person. That will sting if I'm able to bring both my boys for a hopeful Friday/Saturday.
I can't imagine the additional $25 making someone reach a decision to not come though. It IS the greatest buggy event in the world.

I realize there are a lot of people that fly in. That's another reason why it would be best to stop raising the prices. The more they charge the less
people will be able to afford to attend. I can afford it but there are some who can not. The fact is that we can visit the dry lake for free. And
there are a lot of us that don't eat the food. Look at SOBB, there is no fee yet it is a great event. I didn't mind paying $50. But then they raised
the prices last year, and now again this year and I don't understand why.

The first thing you are gonna hear is insurance. And YES, we do NEED insurance. Dude you can't deny that our first year out there, we were a hazard to
others. Accidents happen, especially with that many people flying around each other. Also, as locals we don't see that many kites in the air routinely,
many of these riders do. I suspect the insurance is MORE beneficial to us locals than anyone else, especially in the long term usage of Ivanpah.
My daddy said it's much easier to improve someone else's system than to create your own, duh!
As a local I am perfectly fine with the participant price. I thought the guest fee was a little pricey, I had a lot of friends who could only come out
for a few hours to see what its all about, but not for $50. For you non locals, try to understand that its not just an extra $25 for a drive we can make
supposedly anytime. I hate hearing that. Do you go to the beach anytime in LA?? NABX is a vacation for most and something we locals try to cram into
our everyday busy lives. Lets all wear our empathy suits for this....
Is it possible to work out a "basic" package entry for those who just want to ride and thats it? It's not crazy to think with as fast as NABX is
growing, the volunteer pace could be outdone by the sheer volume of people in some years down the road. Selling those who just want insurance with no
frills (numbers, food, access to main tent, races, etc) just that will ease some work on the volunteers??? Just putting ideas into the universe

Forgot to mention port a potty rental in the basic discussion. BTW, for the record I payed the participant fee and guest fee for my lady and I last
year and even though we missed most meals, we still felt like the mugs, beer, insurance, restrooms, etc were worth the money and I have no doubt it will
again this year.
Let's also realize asking for basic packages is asking NABX to cater to a pretty minority share of interests and they have plenty on their plate. The
burden of change is on those who ask for it. See if you can petition enough interests in a basic package and present it to NABX.

The Aussie said something about you being a "snooky man" and he could eat you for breakfast. Ok, I added that last part myself. :saint::smug:
Back on topic, I know I'm quite the minority by bringing not just 1 son but my younger son is also on tap to come in 2012, but in sports leagues,
there is a discount for registrations after the primary. IE. Registrant 2 and 3 are less than the primary, as in $100 for me, $75 for my first son
and maybe $50 or 60 for the third. You can look at it like that would be $225 instead of $300. Or on the other end, is it $100 instead of $300 for
someone out there. My 2 sons won't take advantage of much of the opportunity to be there, but they will probably need the portaloos (UK lingo) and
might get to eat a dinner or 2, but won't leave with a mug or drink any of the beer. Again, its a new process for the organizers to work around and
I'm sure any effort towards working with this issue looks like less money in the coffers.
None of this affects my choices of attending and I'm sure I'll provide some volunteer effort for the event since I'm "on location". When you're
heading home from the event, the additional $25 isn't going to be what you are thinking about.
There, clear as mud now........;-)

Its not about the garbage. How much do you pay at Sobb? The correct answer btw is not nothing! You pay for what you use. You donate in the jar
according to how much food you eat and conribute for the porto potty.

Hmm, from what you wrote it doesn't sound like nothing. Sounds like there are things to pay for, and people pay. How is that different from Nabx?
Nabx has an entrance fee because of many things need to be paid for. I'm sure Dean will be on here to list them out. I can think of some: porta
potties, the big tent, insurance, blm fee, supplies for numbers and ID tags, storage rental fee for all the gear, and did I mention insurance? Not
to mention the helicopter rides from the airport...
Some people have attended in the past without paying. Last year it took this forum to shame them into paying if they were going to attend. And even
after shaming them, there were still people on this forum who would buy product from them. Yikes, all of us don't have the same values (even very
high ones). Hope we don't have to go through that again...

I for one liked the food and appreciated the fact that I could kite, drink and screw off all day and come in for food just about any time I felt like
it.
I still say for what you get out of it weather your participate in all or some, it's a whole lot of value for the dollar.

I must take a stand on the food myself. I thought it was awesome every meal I got both this past year and the year before. Not just grub to fill

Where did the helicopter rides come from?
And What is so different from last year to cause a 30% increase? I'm not saying I don't think we should have to pay something. But why has the price
doubled over 2 year? The first time it was due to the bathrooms leaking which personally I would have gone after the company that provided them. What
now?
