What, no "fastest man in the world" title with some footage of the WR speed?

I have no idea what was said, but I liked watching it!

okay it was fun to see but a friend who couldn't see my screen heard the end with the Dutch, the background music and the woman squealing with the kite and thought I was watching something else.

I think this is one of the 1st times I have seen Arie ride without a helmet ?

I'm pretty sure this is the acception not the norm'?

I don't usually have my beginers hook in right off either ?

Something isn't normal here?

It's TV! how can you look good in a helmet on TV? I'm just glad the cute reporter didn't get yarded by that kite and give us all a bad name. But maybe it is testament to Arie's teaching skill?

here comes the debate

arie was doing an interview.
your team pilot is reckless. should i point out to the public and the general buggy population his EPIC fails time after time. that could have closed beaches for a complete country, the angry public beach users, causing fines for a large usa event, and not to mention another country banning him from using their beaches or racing. should i continue???

obviously the no helmet thing was wrong, fair enough. however again its an interview. he's not racing. i don't know the reason nor I'm i here to defend his actions. maybe the camera got the better of him? maybe it was suppose to be just an interview and last minute they decided that they wanted him to ride the buggy. i don't know.
im not the person to stop everyone from buggying if they aren't wearing a helmet. locally we have riders who don't follow this rule. who am I to say. heck they don't even belong to NAPKA.

having done an interview with our crew here locally ( http://vimeo.com/1851306 ), everything is on the spot ... go with the flow.

TV = Nothing is ever planned. MOVIE / Video = its all on paper, scripted and edited.

(even in our interview i didn't have a helmet on. but what you didn't see or hear is that, i need to you explain kiting than get into the buggy and ride off with her in the tandem buggy, its LIVE TV, with about 3-4 mins to get my stuff together, where does my helmet come into play)

Another excellent example of why I think Richard's people skills are not up to the job of representing our sport, or has he been hacked at the airport again?
Richard, for future reference if you have to ask "Should I mention..." the answer is no.

S
p.s. Should I mention the pizza box story? That one's a real knee slapper.

I've been around Ricky enough to know that he is passionate about kiting and most importantly he has a POSITIVE attitude in general. I applaud him for stepping up and taking the reigns of our organization (and all the fortune and fame to go along with it  ). He shouldn't be subjected to such scrutiny by someone that doesn't seem to be a member, but just a personal grudge.

Sorry, I recognize both of us as highly unsuitable for the job.

From your previous post "He wasn't racing." I never race.

I never said you weren't up to speed, I am sorry if it was inferred. I meant that you are a loose cannon likely to do something like call a past organizer of major kite event or officer of some kite organization a #@%$#! in a public forum. Like many of the people who have known you a long time, I know you can act on impulse without thinking the consequences through. The pizza box is a prime example.

None from me.

Ahhh, I like the way he describes how to get started. Kind of a whole new skill set there and a new way to look at it.

I'll have to try some of his techniques next time I get the bug out.

It was funny the way she said more lessons were in order but she just jumped right into the seat with no hesitation. Brave lady.

he talks of an accident which he hurt his ankle after the lady asked how his preparation has been going for the Euro's. He also mentions he is speed holder at 133kmph and Dutch champion, then takes off down the road. Also mentions that nobody does it professional. She then takes off in the buggy screaming oh God, oh God, how am I doing.

thats a rough ass translation, no mention of safety equipment.

And yes, i speak Dutch
