buggy riding without kites

a few years ago i got to just ride my buggy down the levels of a parking garage at a park. i was thinking of doing this at a big hill on a day with no wind to see what i can make the buggy do.
has anyone ever done either of these things

In the immortal words of Charlton Heston at the beginning of Armageddon (@ 1:40):

"It happened before... it will happen again. It's just a question of when."

(I watch too many movies. )

Downhill.... no kite.... at night.... on snow. :o

I like the cell phone call in the background.

Do a Youtube search of "Downhill Kite Buggy" and you will find a fair number.

Sam

I know John Holgate made a video of him riding down a hill around him, ended up in a parking lot of some sort, but he definitely got some good speed in! I live in a very flat place and not sure I could find a hill big enough to hit more than 10 mph!

GACK.... I just noticed the notes for the second vid, I posted.... MAX SPEED 82 Km/h. That's looney tunes in the dark... on snow, etc.

I didn't know that was Charlton Heston! Must have been one of the last things he did. That an getting ambushed by Mike Moore.

oops, I digress... yes, I occasionally drag my buggy up my hill and come slaloming down it just for a bit of fun. It also is a good fitness workout (the uphill bit). I occasionally think how jealous all the little kids would be if they saw my very flash 'billy-cart'

edit: ps: the 'car parS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K- was my driveway.

pss: yes, towing certainly does work. At Kingston in South Australia they do a long downwind run along the beach and then have multiple tow ropes behind a 4wd to come back.

Little bit of footage of that on here:

Does tow-in work ? That's how we did the initial testing on Chuckawalla Rock-It 1.0. Ski rope behind a quad through some nasty moguls and a drop off into a wash that taco'd the frame but no warp speed passes.

Here's mine from a couple of years ago. They're both just test videos, unfinished and a bit boring.
I've been wanting to do something better but never found the time.
