Big Foot Wheels questions ........

so.... it is time to look for soft sand wheels ......
..... and I am not sure where to start and if PL Big Foot is the only option ..... and if thats a case where to get them for best price
..... please let me know what my choices are in US ... I will use them with my KiteTrike (20mm) and adopt to buggy that is in making .....
... also ..... are there any "nicer" rims that I can purchase for BF ???

Thanks

Kober

I'm not sure a kitetrike is up to the pressures that bigfoot lites will place on the equipment. Also, the stock fork won't fit a BFL.

These are an option for nice wheels.

I would think that the cast aluminum rims would be overkill.

These might be an alternative, if they are available seperately.

Like my grandson says, "Dude, don't waste your time with a garbage buggy." I have a kitetrike and it is a piece of garbage. Did the bigfoot thing and built a new fork for it and then built a new down tube and then repaired the rear axle and after replacing the seat 3 times, and after flipping the the thing to many times it is now back to stock and has a tow bar on the thing that hooks to my MG as a tandem.
I know its a keep my brain and need to do something moment but gather some money together and do it right, buy a bigfoot bug, you will be happier in the long run.

Your least expensive option is to get the standard Peter Lynn wheels and then purchase the big foot tires to mount onto them. The standard PL wheels house a 20mm bearing which is the same size as the aluminum wheels so if you wanted to swap out from one buggy to the other or from the PL wheels to the Aluminum wheels, you can do so without having to make any other changes.

Also, to swap the 20mm wheels with the Kite Trike, all you would need is a set of 12mm spacers that will size down the 20mm bearing to the 12mm axle. We also have 15mm spacers in stock if you need a set of those. One spacer set per wheel is needed to mount on the smaller axle sizes.

Here's a link to the axle spacer adaptorss:

Kober,
Don (kiteplace on this forum) has PL big foot buggies for a very reasonable price. I bought one from him last year and he delivered it to the WWBB. I'm very happy with it. Regarding the big wheels on a standard buggy... it's not a very good idea: your elbows are going to rub against the wheels. You need a longer axle and that comes with the PL big foot. Anyway... this is my advice.

I will most likely ship a set of BF lights to WWBB so I can use on my buggy. If they are not sold with the buggy, they will be available forsale, $250 for the set.

It's the Black Widow demo buggy I sent out to JIBE in the spring. It's with East Coast Kitesports right now as a demo. It will be my ride when I go there in october. I was thinking about sending bigfoot lights over but will not be bringing them back so will just sell them afterwards.

edit: They will be on my aluminum rims for that price, on the plastic rim, you can have them after the event for $150, tire only. The aluminum rims I used are ATV so have 3/4" ID on the bearing which is too small for your 20mm bolt.
