lake hefner oklahoma

sunday morning im plaing on heading to the dry lake bed side of lake hefner, oklahoma. we got clearance from the police that lakebeds are open to nonmotorized vehicles. we have about half a mile of lakeshore and about 300 yards from the edge of the lake to the water with a point that can go out into the lake area about 600 maybe 700 yards. if your up to it. you can buggy around a quarter of the lake. i tried it last time and got stuck in some mud. winds as of right now are 20+ today we had 30 gusts to 40 and the local guys were having a blast. i was tuck at work.

I rode there with david .. I tried my board but there was so many rocks. You'll need a big foot buggy to avoid hitting the rocks and bricks ( enough to build a new home)

You can avoid the rocks but you will have to go closer to the water. I have no clue how someone got bricks ( from a home) thrown into the lake 100 feet from shore. it is probably the best place for you and me to get a fix if we can't get to Ivanpah. It's not a big place but with the right wind, you can avoid the debris and get some speed in. You do run out of space quick with the nuking winds that they get there. It would probably be a good place for you since you got the landboarding skills. I had a hard time with my limited skill and heavier flexboardz. I did not try to ride closer to water.

If you do plan to ever make it out there, I would meet you up there in an instant!!!

Its something to keep in mind. I think its only 5 or 6 hours from my house. It would be a nice place to my 12m charger that doesn't get used that much. i'm not worried about the water, every time i kite the coast i end up in the water anyway lol.

it may be a great spot for next spring when I have a three day weekend, or maybe during my springbreak! Second to last week of march i'm off the entire week, maybe we should think about traveling there
